BTW, I have two scanners here: an elderly and currently rather poorly AR1000 for portable work, and an AR3000 for fixed use. The '3000 is hooked up to my PC and I use "Scancat" software for logging and record keeping, as well as controlling the rx. Aerials are many and varied, but at the moment I use a small loft mounted vertical for general purpose listening. I listen to almost anything except Airband. Look forward to lots of traffic in here. When I droped 1:324/111 there were over 6O BBS numbers just in the 324 Node. Now there are just 12. There have been reviews recently in Monitoring Times, so check those out. The reviews were generally good. I don't have the information in front of me, so don't hold me to this, but $300 to $400 each for the two units sticks in my feeble brain. I want one, but I'll let someone else can be the "pioneer."
