Many thanks for your tip, it works like a charm. Has Fred changed something in this issue of Commo, because, with previous issues I just put "set uldir,A:" and "set dldir, A:" and this worked on my floppies. Thanks again. I was wondering if you have ever run COMMO with Tinytalk, I've been farting around with Tinytalk lately and decided to throw a quick copy of Commo on the notebook. I was on the web this evening looking for some jumper settings for a hard disk a friend came upon and found that COMMO's screen capture keys wouldn't work because Tinytalk wanted those keys all for itself. I've asked in BLINKTALK and I'm trying to track down some Tinytalk library configuration files so that I can run something like COMMO without going through the painstaking task of setting up a raft of configs. Jeff, Unfortunately, I haven't used TinyTalk at all for the past few years, so I can't from memory give you the solution to this problem. Assuming you mean that TinyTalk uses the alt-I key for some function though, I have some thoughts, as Flipper, my default speech program, likewise uses the alt-I... First of all, I have redefined the alt-I function of Flipper, the hot key for current line, to another key combination in my Commo configuration. I am not sure that this is even an option with TinyTalk, the redefining of keys, but if not, I am sure there is an exception key. For example, with Flipper, if you hit the alt-N, the next key is sent to the aplication, even if it is normally used by Flipper for some speech function, so alt-N followed by alt-I will indeed capture the screen from within Commo no matter what. I'm really straining the old memory banks here trying to recall the exception key in TinyTalk, and I'm coming up with an alt-X as a possibility, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it either. Another option might be to define another key within Commo to perform the screen capture, but somebody else will have to enlighten us as to how to do that. Again, I'm almost positive there is a macro function to do this, but in hopes that someone else will jump in on the conversation, and because I'm too lazy to look it up myself, I'll leave it at that. Hey, while I'm here, let me wish you and all the other echo participants a joyous holiday season, and let's hope we're still talking Commo here for the next year as well! Willie ... It's trivial. You make Alt-I do nothing in Commo with a line like: {:ali} {noop} {} And you make another key do a Screen Image Save with one like: {:alj} {scre} {} for Alt-J. Both lines anywhere in COMMO.MAC, though near the beginning is usually easiest. WW> Assuming you mean that TinyTalk uses the alt-I key for > some function though, I have some thoughts Actually, rereading, Jeff says keys, plural. He might be talking about capture file (default is Alt-1) instead of screen image saving (Alt-I). In either case, the {noop} bit will turn off a default key assignment in Commo for any key. ... I normally have only used TinyTalk with a word processor and the DoubleTalk because of it's transportability, and seldom on my home PC with telecommunications software. I figured I'd give {COMMO} a whirl on the notebook because of Fred's SFI option for us voice users. A quick Alt-X in TinyTalk does the job and the world is well. I should have thought of that immediately, but of course if you're not using a programme as often as you'd like you quickly forget. As always, Dogface sends a big wet Labrador slobbery one your way.
