It might be worth it for someone to go thru the online help methodically, and the addenda, and create an ascii doc set that parallels the printed 2.0 docs. However, when I run Qedit again after exiting it, the macro HB> would be gone. Can anyone advise me? Hi, A couple of things come to mind. Are you saving the macro to a key? In which case you have to run Qconfig.exe, after editing Qconfig.dat, and select (K) for Keys, then (S) for Save changes and quit for Qconfig to update Q.exe to contain your new macro. I have my snail-mail address tied to my F12 key - handy for letter writing. I see on further reading of your message that you used Macro Record. To save that macro for further use in another editing session, you have to save it, and any other macros you create, to a file using Macro Write ( Esc, M, W is the command) which will prompt you for a file name for the new file. It does say in the docs however, that macros assigned only to the scrap area will not be saved. In future editing session you need only to execute Macro Read (Esc, M, R) and enter the name of your macro file for the editor to load all your stored macros for that session. Also, in macros, any text you wish to be included, like the sample you gave above, HAS to have quote marks around it, exactly as you have done above, or it wont be there when you try to execute the macro. Hope this helps some. Geoff ... This is directed to someone at SemWare.... I was editing the TSE.UI file to customize TSE, and found that I could not redefine for some reason. It does not appear under the showkey macro either... Is there some reason for this?? Also, I name some files with a '-' as the first character, to indicate to me that they are important and should not be deleted. This has caused some problems... One file I have is called -RAPATH.BAT, which is my path statement. When I try editing from the command line, TSE asks if I wish to SAVE or RESTORE state... While only a small problem, it is annoying as I have had to rename these files for easy access. PS: Congratulations on a GREAT program.. I would be lost without it now adays. Semware, like any other business, is out to make a profit; that's how they stay in business. Semware is a commercial software developer to the best of my understanding, and that means overhead costs. (They are not working out of their homes or garages.) I don't want to debate The cost of Semware's upgrades; my original message was intended to center around the issue that Semware should consider including some type of electronic version of their online help system or manual with their product. This could save $$ for both Semware and the end user if implemented properly. LS> I can't believe that SemWare has produced a product without a LS> manual. If an older version of a program is still floating around, use it. Look at SLMR, the predecessor of OLX from Mustang Software. People still use it because it does the job for them. I know of a person that doesn't see a reason to upgrade from QEdit V2.08. If I recall correctly, that version was only 36K in size or something like that.
