I have a K2000r version 1.3, and it doesn't respond to Controller 11 (Expression). Well, let me clarify that: it recognizes CC 11, but you have to specifically assign it to something to make it work. That's contrary to the way most synths work these days: most synths now recognize Controller 11 as Expression, and react accordingly (in case you've forgotten, Expression is a 'secondary' volume. In other words, you can controll your master volume with Controller 7, and within that, you can control Expression, or secondary volume. It will never get any louder than the current setting for Volume (cc7). Anyway, I have been told that in operating system revision 3, Kurzweil added response to CC11 to the K2000. In other words, it should respond to CC11 as Expression, without you having to program it to do so. Thus, you don't have to waste a control source on Expression - it's already there. Could someone who owns a K2000 with operating system 3 or greater please confirm this for me? I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade the K2k or put my money elsewhere. How is everyone? :) Ok.. I have an old Roland JX-3P. It has a midi IN/OUT/THRU .. and HAS been used as a midi keyboard with Power Tracks PRO for windows 3.1 .. on someone else's computer though. Now I have SoundBlaster AWE 32 .. and Power Tracks/Voyetra/Band in a Box.. and tried ALL of them and could not get the computer/software to look for incoming midi data from the keyboard. When I looked to see what was listed as an INPUT it said the FM driver.. I could not add to it. I went to the driver setup and saw no MIDI keyboard setup.. I am lost. is there any specific driver I am supposed to have to have soundblaster take in the midi data from it's midi jack? Also, I am looking for a good DOS-based sequencer that can access my soundblaster's GM sounds but take in from the JX-3P. Is cakewalk the best in that situation? any help would be greatly appreciated!
