I find that difficult to believe. There are helmets that have lots of vents and these are usually the more expensive ones. I imagine that air must pass more freely than with less vents. The coolness is because the air will be channeled to go into and through your hair, thus cooling off your head. Without a helmet, the air around your head just sits there.. Its KIND of like how you'll get alot wetter running in the rain then you will standing still. Also how when you run through rain, your front gets soaked but your back will remain relativly dry (like on cars).. The coolest helmet I've ever owned is a Vetta Testarosa; no longer produced, unfortuantely. I'm rather reluctant to shop for a new helmet for fear of it being a disappointment after this one. * KWQ/2 1.2i * Internet: John.Thompson@ibm.net --- Silver Xpress Mail System 5.4P1a * Origin: TeLnEt tO: applegate.com, a BBS oN tHE iNterNET (1:139/631) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 150 BIKE NET Ref: EBC00002 Date: 07/07/97 From: WAYNE HOWARD Time: 08:03pm \/To: ALL (Read 2 times) Subj: Vetta VA-C2 I have a Vetta CycloComputer (C2) that works fine but I lost the instructions. When cycling without a helmet on your head, the air does blow by. Perhaps the vents in a helmet causes the air to blow in within a more narrow profile increasing pressure thus blowing harder than not having a helmet.
