They are now up to three or four buildings-- one of the new buildings has their used bikes. I was there earlier in the year with a friend, but I don't know if they still have the bike you saw. (They might have-- I think I MIGHT have seen one like that-- they have everal experimental and otherwise odd bikes for sale, all for rather high prices. They have an old Schwinn Stingray, some old [1800s?] bikes that look like a cross between a carriage and bicycle, and even some other I don't recall quite well enough to describe [namely, my memory will probably play tricks on me if I try too hard to recall them].) At $10,000 my guess is it is still there. Budget caters mainly to the student crowd, and the few students with that much money are probably looking for the latest in racing/mountain biking technology, not a 1950s exerimental. Actually, maybe I DO recall it being there. I think I commented to my friend that I liked the idea of having the chain and stuff enclosed, since it would be protected from dirt. I wonder why that never caught on? Too difficult to repair? I'll try to remember to look next time I am over on Regent Street (it's not THAT far off my normal commute!) Maybe I'll add it to my wish list of odd bicycles I'd like to own if I ever find myself with a bunch of money to re. Could you RG>give us a few high lights of your trip, memorable RG>experiences, or funny episodes??? :-) PEI is noted for having relatively flat hills; at least we didn't have to walk, but we *did* use our granny gears. PEI is an island off the east coast of Canada, and access to it is by ferry. However, by June 1997 a bridge linking PEI and the mainland will be completed. The Islanders, in their wisdom, expect the crunching ice flows will destroy the bridge, so are waiting for the Mainlanders to use it first. I expect the cyclists will be able to cross the bridge, about 14 km (7 miles). We passed many younger as well as older cyclists who were travelling from one B&B to another. In fact, we joined for a short time a group of Californian cyclists who were in PEI for a club holiday - bicycles and all. One of the best part of the trips was sitting at a table at the entrance to the ferry, with our bicycles by our side, cracking open lobsters. RG>I will be going on a little weekend trip next weekend up RG>north. I hope it doesn't rain - or snows :-( Where is *north* relative to where you are? Take care.......Kim ... I'm still on the BR> original battery. Phenomenal performance in my opinion. The battery in my cateye cordless is still going strong since I got it in '93, and I thought *that* was phenomenal! I bought a replacement battery thinking maybe by spring it would be needed, but perhaps not! I especially liked the alarm function on the solar models, but the batteries were only good for a season, they were expensive, and you had to keep the computer in a sunny place when you weren't using it on the bike. That was a pain! Otherwise, a nice unit, and now that I've converted it, it's even nicer!
