I was thinking about how the time trials were done on tracks, but I suppose that even a minor screw up at high speed could be much more dangerous than at lower speeds. All of which leads back to the question -- why are the handle bars under the seat, anyway?! I've been seeing a recumbent riding around town lately with this layout, aybe I should just pull him over sometime and ask, but that seems like cheating (and might annoying him, if I word the questions wrong!) I commute every day to and from work on a MTB and I've noticed that most of the cars here in Brooklyn do not give way to us cyclists. That part I am pretty used to.. but have you ever seen a very busy cross walk here in NYC? They seem to be looking out for cars almost a car length into the street.. and since they have their heads out into the supposed diamond lane for bikes only they almost lose their heads... So, I am thinking of joining Transportation Alternatives a sort of green peace type of org that centers around cyclists. These folks are radicals, heavy into bugging the electees into funding racks for bikes (very scarce here in the city even tho it would be perfect for lessening the traffic) and cleaning up the cycle lanes over the Washington, Brooklyn, Marine Parkway bridges.....etc. I usually just have a 2.0 mile round trip to do and already I have had one flat tire due to glass... I bought a Kevlar rear tire and I hope that will fix that... any suggestions? ... So you have bacteria or fungus growing inthe drinking tube of your camelback. The way we would clean this in North america is to use is a table spoon of bleach to an eight ounce of water which would kill anything growing in the camelback - flushing everything out. I'm not sure if you could buy bleach, but I imagine that there are other products that could replace bleach where you live. Another method would be to collect some fine sand and insert it into the tube with water shaking it back and forth until the dirt disappeared. then with clean water clean out the sand.
