CK> I just read on the Internet Usenet newsgroups rec.arts.disney.parks and CK> alt.disney.disneyland that the run of Main Street Electrical Parade at CK> Disneyland, originally set to end October 15, has been extended. The CK> parade will go on hiatus after October 15 (and three private parties that CK> same week) to resume November 1-25. Its last performances will be the CK> Monday after Thanksgiving weekend. The extension is due to what Disneyland CK> spokespeople say is unprecedented interest in the parade, which has run t CK> Disneyland for about 24 years. Not just record-setting crowds ... they have actually had to close the gates and NOT allow any more guests in. The situation has been so severe, that the electronic freeway signs that indicate traffic problems in various parts of Southern California have been sporting "Disneyland Closed" instead of the usual traffic updates. As you all know, I practically live in the shadow of DL (OK, so I'm 10 inutes away), and the whole situation is getting major press coverage on all our TV news reports. BTW, it has only happened ONCE before that the park had to close it's doors o guests because they had capacity crowds and couldn't handle any more. How's little Meecelet? MC> Mark Carlson MC> () () MC> (_) First of all, congratulations for at least two wise decisions. At least in a couple of years Cinderella's Castle should be back to normal. As far as the wedding, the only answer is how much do you want to spend? The current rules of the "Fairy Tales Weddings Department" (and that is its real name) are with more than 15 people in the wedding party and use of the Wedding Pavilion you have to spend at least $5,000 plus tax and gratuities on food and beverage, photography, flowers, and "special" items (such as character appearances, glass coach, etc.) as well as using at least 50 "room nights" at any of the Disney hotels (this is any combination of rooms and nights, such as 17 rooms for 3 nights, etc.) and the rooms do NOT have to be paid for by you. Your best bet is to call the WDW main switchboard and ask for the FTWD and take it from there. --- Maximus/2 2.02 * Origin: Air 'n Sun 703-765-0822 Origin needed; apply within (1:109/120) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 149 DISNEY Ref: DEE00002 Date: 10/08/96 From: JOHN SOBOTIK Time: 10:54pm \/To: MAGIQUE (Read 2 times) Subj: Re: Song of the South M> Does anyone know if Disney ever came out with the original Song of the South M> movie on VCR tape? Easiest way to find one is to post a note on usenet -- alt.video.laserdisk. Someone will tell you they've got one, probably at about $125. I picked one up from Tower Video in Paramus NJ for $50. It was a pain the he butt finding someone to get it for me though. Of course, to view it, you'll need to rent a video player & maybe record it for your personal viewing pleasure.
