I know from when I lived up north that winters were best but is there actually a good summer time to go (well providing the weather isn't too hot :)) Also what if any perks come along with an annual pass?? Besides the obvious one of being able to hop over to Epcot whenever you get the craving for some "International" food :) Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Do you think this will affect MGM Studios in -> Disney? I don't want them to close that down. It's a neat theme par -> No, i think it'll still be the same, although MGM isn't that good of a theme park. I didn't like it that much, i just liked a few things there, like Star Tours and teh Indiana Jones Stunt Show. --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Old Bridge High School BBS (1:107/371.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 149 DISNEY Ref: DB400070 Date: 06/28/96 From: JOHN PALOWSKI Time: 12:09pm \/To: KENNY COPPENS (Read 1 times) Subj: Re: HELP I NEED PROOFS OF PURCHASE Well I don't know if I am going to go with the offer because the beeper isn't that great, but I may afterall. Advanced word says that the unique thrill attraction will be running the cars through regularly (the show design will not be completed, however) in time for a press walk- through this coming September. Slated to open in Spring of 1997, this alliance between General Motors and Disney will feature a journey in test vehicles that undergo harsh weather testing, various road surfaces, close encounters with semi-trucks and finally, a harrowing high-speed trip around the test track that circumnavigates the outside structure. Stay tuned for more details! **Universe Of Energy** This revamped attraction was supposed to open this past June, however, preliminary tests sent things back to the drawing board, reportedly something that wasn't quite right about the Ellen Degeneres Audio- Animatronic figures inside the ride. Ellen's face is being re- designed, hopefully in time for the 25th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. To make up for the delay, the original UOE has been re-opened. -Rich Koster ()_() ()~() FDC Mickey, Mickey on EntertainMuck & FDCMuck ()_() Portal Disney FANtasEARS Moderator <"GO DISNEY" on Portal! 800-433-6444> (_) FidoNet Disney Echo Moderator <1:3828/1.3> Portal Disney FANtasEARS World Wide Web: http://www.portal.com/~rkoster --- April V1.0+ * Origin: The Mouse House of Mickey, Minnie & Meecelet -New Orleans (1:3828/1.3) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 149 DISNEY Ref: DB400072 Date: 06/27/96 From: RICH KOSTER Time: 06:37am \/To: ALL (Read 1 times) Subj: Disney News - Magic Kingdom The Magic Kingdom ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ **Mickey's Toontown Fair** This new area of the park (replacing Mickey's Starland) is slated to open to guests on June 28th! Featuring new houses for Minnie and Donald as well as a barn for Goofy-the area will be complete on September 30th when the new Barnstormer rollercoaster opens. Built by Vekoma International, this "roller-skate" model will be twice as long as their previous ride for Disney, Gadget's Go-Coaster, and will feature a thrilling "dive" into a barn filled with chickens! -Rich Koster ()_() ()~() FDC Mickey, Mickey on EntertainMuck & FDCMuck ()_() Portal Disney FANtasEARS Moderator <"GO DISNEY" on Portal! 800-433-6444> (_) FidoNet Disney Echo Moderator <1:3828/1.3> Portal Disney FANtasEARS World Wide Web: http://www.portal.com/~rkoster --- April V1.0+ * Origin: The Mouse House of Mickey, Minnie & Meecelet -New Orleans (1:3828/1.3) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 149 DISNEY Ref: DB400073 Date: 06/27/96 From: RICH KOSTER Time: 06:37am \/To: ALL (Read 1 times) Subj: Disney News - Disneyland Disneyland ^^^^^^^^^^ *N e w T o m o r r o w l a n d* With a much-needed facelift on the way, New Tomorrowland is starting to take shape and oh, what a shape it is! The first major profile change will be the re-locating of the Rocket Jets. To be re-named the Orbitron, this structure will go to the front of Tomorrowland and will protrude slightly into the neutral hub area, though trees and other foliage will keep it from destroying the atmosphere. Stylistic rock work akin to that of Disneyland Paris will be featured on either side. Upon entering the land, guests will have the chance to head into the GM Advanced Concept Center. This attraction will replace the existing Circlevision building and will consist of five "stages" throughout the presentation. A pre-show area incorporates the enter a tunnel that heads under the Tomorrowland concourse and up into the structure that currently houses the WEDway Peoplemover. Replacing that attraction will be the yet-to-be-permanently-named Rocket Sleds. Racing along the exact track layout of the former Peoplemover, the cars will actually pop a wheelie as they head out of the station. Designers are toying with the idea of adding fiber optic lights to the side of the vehicles that will seemingly change the shape and color of the cars as they whisk around Tomorrowland at night. A total of 30 vehicles will run the course at speeds of up to 35 m.p.h., making it the fastest ride in the park. Testing has begun high above the Autopia as hapless execs act as "guinea pigs" for the new venture. Once the ride is completed, guests will then head back through the tunnel and into the area previously known as the Premiere Shop for a post-show look at the new GM Technology. Atop the loading area for the sleds will be the Observatron, a kinetic light sculpture that will spin, play music and perform a stunning light show that will dramatically enhance the Tomorrowland Skyline. The Moonliner (from the ancient "Flight To The Moon" attraction) will make a re-appearance on top of the Mission To Mars building as a part of the decor for an elaborate Pizza Planet restaraunt. Unlike the version currently being explored at Disney- MGM Studios, this full-service establishment will be larger in scale, no word on whether the floor plan will incorporate the two MTM rooms. Directly in front of the Pizza Planet and Space Mountain queue will be a unique "water maze". Surrounding a sphere which serves as your "goal", guests will attempt to navigate alternating walls of water that reach as high as twelve feet. There is a way to get through to the center without getting wet, but only if you're careful! The Carousel building which has been a sort of office area since America Sings closed down will become Innoventions. I'm happy to report that the carousel WILL turn, allowing guests to choose from five seperate areas of technology. Upon selecting this area, they can then enter the main bi-level structure which will echo the world's fair motif of the current Innoventions. Honey, I Shrunk the Audience will be the first show to debut in the new land as changes take place, also expect to see a new Star Tours ride film! New Tomorrowland is slated to be completed in the summer of 1998. -Rich Koster ()_() ()~() FDC Mickey, Mickey on EntertainMuck & FDCMuck ()_() Portal Disney FANtasEARS Moderator <"GO DISNEY" on Portal! 800-433-6444> (_) FidoNet Disney Echo Moderator <1:3828/1.3> Portal Disney FANtasEARS World Wide Web: http://www.portal.com/~rkoster --- April V1.0+ * Origin: The Mouse House of Mickey, Minnie & Meecelet -New Orleans (1:3828/1.3) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 149 DISNEY Ref: DB400074 Date: 06/27/96 From: RICH KOSTER Time: 06:38am \/To: ALL (Read 1 times) Subj: Disney News - CA Adventure Disney's California Adventure ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ As if New Tomorrowland wasn't enough, plan have finally been revealed for an Anaheim second gate! Taking the place of the planned $3 billion WESTcot, Disney's California Adventure will feature Hollywood Boulevard, a neon and deco re-creation of Tinseltown's booming studio district in the 1930s and '40s. The Sunset Boulevard district pays homage to Hollywood landmarks such as the Beverly Wilshire Theater. Guests can also experience movie rides, action shows, Hollywood- themed restaurants and studio tours. A boardwalk area promises thrills as plans include a new rollercoaster! Though its architecture mimics an old-fashioned wooden coaster, designs call for a loop topped with Mickey Mouse ears! Other elements include a 100-foot long lift, a first drop of 85 feet, over 1500 feet of track and a climactic double helix. -Rich Koster ()_() ()~() FDC Mickey, Mickey on EntertainMuck & FDCMuck ()_() Portal Disney FANtasEARS Moderator <"GO DISNEY" on Portal! 800-433-6444> (_) FidoNet Disney Echo Moderator <1:3828/1.3> Portal Disney FANtasEARS World Wide Web: http://www.portal.com/~rkoster --- April V1.0+ * Origin: The Mouse House of Mickey, Minnie & Meecelet -New Orleans (1:3828/1.3) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 149 DISNEY Ref: DB400075 Date: 06/27/96 From: RICH KOSTER Time: 06:38am \/To: ALL (Read 1 times) Subj: Disney News - Tokyo Disney Sea Tokyo Disney Sea ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Michael Ovitz has reportedly looked at the model for this planned park and inquired how he could get one himself. This dynamic new project has all the makings of the best Disney adventure ever! The park rests in Tokyo Bay and has been designed to utilize the peripheral edges as extended breakwater. The main gate features three entrances to the left, right and center. The themed lands include: Lost River Delta-Here you'll find a new version of the Indiana Jones Adventure as well as a rainforest themed attraction. American Waterfront-Designed to resemble a bustling modern city, guests will be able to experience the only Tower of Terror attraction planned outside of the states and it resembles a fairly respectable skyscraper. Other attractions include: Aquatopia-Takes guests on a boat ride through whirlpools and something called a "water vanguard". Journey To The Center Of The Earth-Launching from within a huge volcanic crater, these EMV's (Enhanced Motion Vehicles) will take you on a thrilling journey to meet up with a ferocious subterranean creature. The Port Disney Electric Railway is an elevated train that transports passengers from one side of the park to the other.
