"Black Sunday" is what Disneylanders came to call opening day at the Park. AKA: "The Day that Everything Went Wrong." Imagine a live television broadcast with 22 cameras (the previous record for live TV was 3). Imagine that the asphalt on Main Street was so fresh that people's shoes stuck to it. Imagine so many people on the Mark Twain that it almost capsized. Imagine that the gatecrashers outnumbered the 15,000 invited guests. Imagine one of those cameras (and microphones) showed Walt cussing out a technician. Yeah, "Black" weren't hardly the word for it, but it'll have to do. Needless to say, WDW and the two overseas parks had their share of problems, but nobody ever said the Company didn't learn from their mistakes. You'd think that in that scene you'd only have to color the background grey....Look real carefully next time... There's MANY different colors in hat background: blue, green, purple, pink, yellow...It was TERRIBLY hard to olor! But it's my pride and joy. I've watched all thoes episodes so many times...I loved that show too! :) I used to draw Tiny Toons characters until I became a fluid Disney fan! ;) On tape? Cool! This is the one where a group of four people - including Haley Mills and maurice Chevalier - set out to find Captain Grant. He put a note in a bottle and sent it down river for them to find. They go along the 37 (or is it 32?) paralell in the mountains looking for him. They are in an earthquake and ride a block of ice on a terrific and dangerous journey. Later on in the film they are stranded in a big tree by a sudden flood. Here they sing "Enjoy It" as they make eggs for breakfast. Maurice Chevalier's attitude, humor and songs throughout the film make it a delight. It also has a great storyline from a book by Jules Verne (20,000 Leagues Under The Sea & Journey To The Center Of The Earth). The scenery is great. I know it wasn't shot on location (probably), but it LOOKS like it was. Haley Mills and Maurice Chevalier are charming and delightful. The songs are memorable. The action is fast and furious. The humor is natural to the situation and very good. This film is definately worth the price of a video rental.
