I am working with ACAD 12 and I am searching for a plot-driver for my Hewlett&Packard Deskjet 850C because I want to print out my drawings on it and I haven't found any driver until now. If everybody knows a Mailbox where I can get this driver I would be very happy if he could tell me the number of it. Thanks for your help ! I've used some older ADI drives with R12 that worked, you might try any of the R11 ADI's on R10, or even an R12 one. Never hurts to try. I got all the drivers with my HP, not a 850C, for windoze and autocad. If you bought this new and didn't the diskettes go check in the box again. If used the call the person you got it from, I keep all my diskettes in a box separate from the manual so I might forget to give them to someone. You got a great printer. I called HP and they said they do not supply the drivers and gave me the number of a company that developes them. I called and the price was $40. I didn't order. Since then I found on the net Dirvers for HP deskjets up to 660c. (I can use 660c dirvers; they are similar). If you are interested in the number or trying the drivers I got email me. IU>> No one with problems with Acad (12) ? RC> Have you ? Acad is a pretty gross product, having loads of "components" that most users will never use, like a bill of materials, with number of nails and tiles for a roof, doesn't do it well compared to programs written for roofing design IYSWIM. (Just a quick example off the top of my head.. but it's a true comment/analogy to all Acad facilities) The basic 2-D machine is not getting any better and the 3D stuff is dreadful. There's better 3D modellers out there. Acad13 just piled on more and more 3D and rendering stuff - ie bigger & slower and in 2-D terms the product has thus deteriorated. As to Acad12 and Acad generally not being supported in Dos in future..... if that threat/rumour is true, it's time to find a better package! So my main gripe is the way that the 2-D drawing package is being neglected. Did you know that there is a rival product that offers entity selection "on screen" as the cursor is moved? Ie instead of specifying end, mid, tan, qua, cen etc, these appear as you move the cursor, in a little semi-transparent area alongside the cursor - a button click as the correct pick point is displayed and you are there! No gross movement of the pick device away from the target area, or no typing mid, end cen etc with the left hand! Brill - the innovative technique is termed Navigator and Acad has absolutely nothing like it. BTW anyone know how to disable the "end" command? I occasionally type "end" as the selection point when the previous command failed (when working at speed) The "end" then gets taken as the save and quit command And that's absolutely infuriating! -=> Ian >=- The best I can do for now... Some of the modifications & enhancements in this new release include: [ 1] The DXF Export routine was modified to eliminate a redundant specification of the layer information that would appear after Polylines and might result in AutoCAD not being able to import the file, issuing an error message about a duplicate layer. [ 2] The DXF Export routine was modified to filter out any Polylines with a single vertex, as such elements are not supported by AutoCAD. [ 3] The program was modified so that the screen is updated upon completion of a DXF export operation. Previous releases of the program would leave behind a copy of the DXF dialog box.
