IC> nope! pricES ARE REALLY DROPING DOWN LOW... if you buy an not name IC> brand one, they practically give it away. Maybe if I hold off buying one, they will pay me to take it?? :-)) LN> Have you had your printer long enough to know how often or after how many LN> pages the ink cartridge must be changed?? IC> 3 weeks old, it is in its infancy:) besides, i don't really print that IC> much... i figure at the end of 2000 i'll have to change. i mostly take IC> it to work and use the cartridges. let it rip over there. isn't it IC> nice of me.? : :) That is very nice of you. How much use does it get at work? Is there any way to replace the black color without having to replace the rest of the colors? IC> lazar printer i don't think i'll ever buy one. The one I have is nice to have, but I most likely would not buy one now. At the time I got it, I was tired of the look one gets from the dot matrix, and even a black and white ink jet was almost as expensive as the laser printer. IC> nice to make a card once in a while instead of running out to buy one. It is nice to be able to do this, especially when it becomes hard to find just exactly the card you want to send. When I read that you are from Virginia, I decided to mention omething to you, in case you might be interested. I have just graduated (this weekend) from a program called Partners In Policy Making. It is a leadership training program which teaches about issues which affect peole with disabilities and their families. (Forgive my typing errors, PLEASE!) It is offered by the state's Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities. I recently spoke to a lady at the airport and she is from Virginia. We began talk about why we were in Austin. When I told her about Partners, she wanted more information. When called to get it sent to her, the Planning Council folks told me that there s a Partners' program in Virginia. Oh, Marina! I cannot begin to tel you all of the terrific things that a person who goes through this course will learn. Even more than that, the friends that I have made---my classmates, are wonderful. If you are nterested, let me know. I'm sure I could find out a person for you to speak to, and heir phone number. Want to know a good book? It's called, "When spider webs unite", by Shafik Asante. What is your cat's name. Mine is B.J. He is gray, resembles a tiger, has tufts of fur on his ears, an orange belly, (he's part Manx), and loves to get into everything, including closets, and kitchen cabinets...much to my chagrin! Well, I need to be going. I have some things to accomplish. I will be anxiously awaiting a message from you. Have a great day! LG> While I have found keystrokes that substitute for most of the things > they do, there are a few tasks I wonder if blind can do? > The first is setting up two windows that are side by side so that > files can be transferrred from one side to the other. I'm not blind myself, but I have a friend who uses a lot of the vision-impaired support software, so I know a fair amount about the options available. I'm not sure that the double window file swap is do-able without some sort of esoteric display device, Linda. That Explorer/File Manager function pretty much requires that you be able to see the screen, since you have to be able to transfer the files to specific directories, and I don't know if you would want to take the time to get the highlighting on each window to call out specific directories through the reader software, and then have to go back, have the reader talk you through selecting a specific file or set of files, and then try to move it back to the other window, and put it in the directory, without causing the highlighter selection bar to shift on that window. It would seem to be easier just to make the files transfers in dos at that point, once you've found the directories where the files are located, and where you want to send them.
