WB> How does that tickle your fancy? Dear Wally, I can *CLEARLY* tell that you are getting back to normal. You were cheerful and humorous when we spoke on the phone yesterday. Thank you for caling with the helpful coaching. I'll try my best to implement them. As for the numb fingers, I don't know what brings that on; my guess poor circulation. I'm too cheap, and frightened, to go to the doctor to find out. Thank you for the congratulations regarding my Partners graduation. I have communicated with as many as 6 of my classmates. Having the ability to send e-mail is a blessing, and awesome joy! Robert and I are doing our best to educate the kitty. We have to keep in mind that he *IS*, after all, still a kitten---a baby. His energy level, and personality is totally different than Butterscotch's was. He is so joyful and curious. Sometimes I become angry and impatient; other times, he is a great source of happiness. I call him my " " bundle of joy boy. My hope is that he won't be too lonely while Robert and I are both at work. You might think me to be silly. If so, so be it! Well, Wally, I need to go do some more chores. Thank you for explaining about the Access A Ride system. It sounds like a very versatile, workable transportation system. Bravo on your repeted attempt to become a client. I think it is essential for people with disabilities to advocate for themselves, as much as possible. ongratulations! I asked about transportation because I have a genuine interest in the ability, or lack thereof, that people with disabilities have to everyday activities and community integration. After all, you and I should be able to go to the store, or the library, at *OUR* choosing, instead ofdepending on friends and family to get us there. *That* is independence! No??? We need more people like you in government. It would better reflex the needs and interests of the disabled as abled people. We need a greater voice in ociety if we are going to succeed in life. In Ontario, Canada we have had a deaf person as a member of provincial government. We also had a disabled chap I know run in a very tuff riding in the last federal election. He had many run against him. He also has cerebral palsy, is in a wheelchair, and has a peech imparment. He is a very intelligent man and knows his politics. As a result, he placed 2nd or 3rd out of 6 or 7 running in his riding. Not a bad showing considering his disabilities, needing an attendant while going door to door and not being able to wheel up steps to the door of many homes. Wish you the best. Go show them what us disabled people are made of. Give them a run for their money. Show the voters that we too are abled people ith a voice. We too can make a difference. I too am very active in polotics here in my country. It has been such a long time since I've been on this echo. I had not had a bbs available that had access to this echo until recently. ut now I am back. For those that don't know or remember me I'm Peter Groves. I'm a very young happily married 40 year old male. I have two cats, and a dog that are more than enough for us as we have no children. My wife has the inconvienience of cerebral palsy and arthritis that puts her in a wheelchair. I too have more mild cerebral palsy as well as recently being diagnoised with sleep apnea (a sleeping disorder). I spend a great deal of time at home as I am my wife's primary care giver. Not that I mind. Neither of us have a job but I am always open to the idea of working. Living on the limited money provided by the provincial government just doesn't quite cut it. I have not seen an increase in money in over 6 yrs. I am having to do much more with alot less. But I am still better off then alot of people. I'm still in the rat race. And the rats haven't won yet...... I am kept busy doing volunteer work in the community. I also consider myself a social activist in the community for disabled people. I also fight for disabled issues by being very active in politicsas a member from within. Life is very busy and very ful for me. Looking forward to hering from as many of you out there as possible. Perhaps you can share some of the many problems and issues that you may feel important. Or perhaps just tell me a little bout yourselves. You will also find me on some of the craft echos as I also like o keep busy doing crafts. Looking forward to hear from people soon. Got to go now. We decided on a local provider called Cadvision after talking with two sales people who had experience with a number of providers. Our new address as of 7:00 p.m. this evening will be; kerbyc@cadvision.com The reason for cutting off from the old one before finding a new one was because we were told that there were problems with viruses and hackers with MSN. As proof of that several days before we had an experience where all of a sudden the site jammed up online and after we got out neither the modem nor the sound system would work. Fortunately after we shut the computer off and rebooted the system corrected itself but I was sure afraid for a few minutes there that we had got a virus and that it would be a major problem to get it fixed. I got so scared after talking with a salesman that I went straight home and cancelled my account before I had a chance to sign up with another provider. As for other news we got a new printer this past week, an Epson 600 so I have been busy with my Printmaster Gold that came with our new system and I have been experimenting learning how to make Christmas stationary. Ha ha you know me I love to create things be it needlework or fancy stationary and cards on the computer. I guess now that we have a reliable provider the next step is to buy a good program for doing a web page, any suggestions? Well, I must get going and get on with my mail, bye for now.
