WB> This is the second message from you today, but the first one was in WB> another echo. Same here. This is the second message from you today! WB> I usually reply the same day I get a message. I used to be that prompt, and I am trying to get back into the groove. I suppose you will accuse me of being in a rut. I have been keeping track of some things for Church, and sometimes I just do that until I am finished, whether there are messages or not. WB> Are you getting any regular exercise? Except for the time when I was really sick. I usually get out for a 3 km walk five or six times a week. I always take Sunday off from the walking. LN> I got an illustrated book of the Amish. WB> Is that an interesting one? The Amish are a religious sect somewhat like the Quakers. They have a history of very simple, but nice furnishings. They do not use tractors, or cars, or telephones. LN> He changed my cholesterol medicine, WB> Have you ever tried natural vitamine-E or lecithin? I take 400 IU of vitamin E and 500 mg of vitamin C twice a day - in the morning and in the evening. WB> These have both helped me with that problem and I am now, taking an WB> anti-oxident that has really helped my circulation a lot. The vitamin E is a fat-soluble anti-oxident, while the vitamine C is a water-soluble anti-oxident. Hugs, Leo ... Grins! AC> I thought it might be a good idea to try combining your last two AC> messages into one. This way, you only have to worry about dealing with AC> one message from me at a time. Monique and I have both hadthe flu, so I AC> haven't been doing much mail lately. That's why this reply has taken AC> so long. Alan, what is the command for storing a message with Blue Wave? I have forgotten and am using the 2.30 version, if you can help? Sorry to hear that you have both been ill with the flu, that is no joke. AC> We've been very lucky around here when it comes to ice. Of AC> course, we had lots of it earlier, but the weather has warmede up a AC> lot. The municipality has a bad habit of using the sidewalk that AC> parallels our street as a snow dump during the winter We're actually AC> going to be able to use it a few weeks earlier! (grin). Is there no bylaw preventing them from using the sidewalks for dumping snow? I would sure look into that, if I were you. We have a city ordinance against people not clearing off the snow. AC> Well, you sure have to do what you can to sort things out when AC> you get turned around. I've never used a Braille compass, but I do AC> know some people find them very helpful. I never leave the apartment by myself without it. Not even to take my garbage out to the dumpster in the back property. AC> This particular training session lasted a full day and I can tell AC> you that my head was spinning by the end of it. It would have gone AC> fine if the guy hadn't been so interested in cramming so much AC> information into the session without giving me a chanceto absorb it. AC> I was all set to take notes, knowing full well I'd never remember all AC> ofthe information, but even he ended up admitting that it was simply a AC> case of too much information, too fast. Was that for computer training? WB> Some times your mis-spelling of words has me guessing! AC> I can see that! I'll try to slow down a bit when I type and I AC> will take more time to read this over before it goes into the packet. For the most part, I usually return to check my posting for mistakes and often do find goofs. AC> I remember being in a similar situation when I was studying in AC> Montreal. I was taking some optacon training and hadto cross a grocery AC> store parking lot to get to the subway station. A man who was new AC> to the area asked the driver where to get thesubway and was told to AC> follow the guy with the black dog. My first dog really liked to AC> walk fast, so he had quite a time keeping up with me. Isn't that humorous? I remember, shortly after going blind, I had taken the time to learn of all the streets in the district I lived in at that time. I was standing at a street corner, talking with a friend, when this car drove up on the opposite side of the street and asked if either of us knew where a certain street was located. I asked my friend who said he had no idea so I asked the driver if he had room in his car as I would come with him. The street was only a block from where I was living at the time. When I got into his car, he asked me what it was that I was holding in my hand I told him it was a white cane as I was blind! He was stunned and made the comment that he would never live thid down. He said that he was from the east and would have to tell his friends that a blind man showed him where to go! Grins! There are none so blind as those who will not see! Blessings, Wally. ... SA> This was the day my cat, 'Scotchie, went back to the SA> vet. Dr. Wellman found a tumor in her mouth. You made a good, loving decision. It is certainly hard for you because you wanted her to be with you. But not at the cost of her pain. It is indeed a sad day for you. I am glad that you cried for Scotchie, for what is life without love in it? I do understand your sorrow, having said goodby to kitties before. SA> Please keep me in your prayers SA> during this initial time of mourning for us. Some folks would say this is a waste of prayers, but it is not. You have lost a loved one, and I pray that the Lord will be with you and comfort you in this time of sorrow. SA> I know you'll understand SA> and have a lot of compassion for this situation because you are owned SA> by a cat. Indeed. It is hard to really like kitty cats and have one in the house and not be owned by it. We like for our kitties to be real cats, not pseudo-dogs. Our kitty does not do much, but it gives us much pleasure just watching her enjoy her nap time. Hugz, ** Leo ** ...
