OEO> You heard incorrectly. The Klingons were specifically created by Gene OEO> Coon as a low-cost alternative to producing expensive Romulan ears for OEO> lots of extras. The Space Mongol OEO> look was created on the fly by actor John Colicos (Kor) and his makeup OEO> man, almost certainly Fred Philips. So it was Colicos and Phillips that was responsible for the original "Mongol Hoard" look and not Roddenberry? I dimly recall Gene R. taking credit for the original concept... Sincerely Yours David G. In which episode did this happen? In "The Best Of Both Worlds", part 1, IIRC. LT> 2. How? After a close pursuit, the Borg managed to get the shields of the Enterprise down, and simply transported directly onto the brigde and abducted Picard. LT> 3. How were the others able to save him? After the Borg ship decimated the fleet at Wolf 359 and moved on to Earth, Riker seperated the Enterprise (with Cmdr. Shelby on the helm of the Saucer section) and Data and Worf piloted a shuttle through the Borg shield, after which, they reclaimed the borgified Picard. Onboard the Enterprise, Data was able to use Picard as interface and gain access to the Borg hivemind. Here he's able to cheat the Borg into believing it was time for regeneration. In effect, he put all Borg on the ship asleep. After the Borgcube had been 'disabled' by the sleep, and thereby failed, it selfdestructed, freeing Picard. LT> Oh, and one more thing: when and how were the Borg first LT> encountered? Q transported the Enterprise into the Delta Qaudrant, where the crew encountered the Borg. In "Q Who?". I don't think it was explained in great detail, but remember, The era was plagued with all sorts of uncurable ailments, parasitic, viral, etc.. Chollora (sp?) was at epidemic levels, durring the REAL 19th century. With the outbreak of chollora, a few unexplainable deaths would be simply passed off as also being caused by chollora. The aliens simply may've thought their 'collecting' would go unnoticed, by being obscured by the other chollora deaths. I did a little research awhile back, of relatives of the Griswold family.. I think in one instance, one of my relatives may've died from some other illness, other than what was put as the cause, on public record. Although listed as 'cereberal hemorage', it seemed a little unlikely, with close to 12 to 13 other deaths, each way from theirs, Also attributed to Cereberal Hemorage... I think it was more of a bored medical examiner, who didn't know if it really was by stroke, old age, Heart Attack, or something else.... seemed a little too rubber-stamped to me..
