Really though, this is something most of us would probably have BS> called "one of those racing deals" had Irvan/McReynolds not made such BS> a big stink about it. My wife and I are still wondering why NASCAR didn't penalize McReynolds for his attack on Cope, about an hour after the fact, which was obviously a premeditated gesture. I can understand Waltrip and Petty getting into an argument in the heat of the moment, but McReynolds' move was uncalled for. He made a fool of himself again yesterday at North Wilkesboro, when his driver was at fault for pitting too early. Martin ... Thanks for the note and the support Craig! The operative word in your quote above is "show". We've all known for some time that NASCAR is in the entertainment business first. CS> A 1% advantage is quickly legislated away to keep the CS> show together and a guy named Banjo should probably get CS> the manufacturer's award each year! The manufacturer's title is a joke IMHO, as there ain't much in any of those cars that's actually made by the manufacturer, and what does actually come from them is extensively reworked by the teams anyway. I'll vote Banjo for MFG champ!! I just watched the 1975 Winston 500 on Speedvision the other day. Those cars were STOCK cars, and the racing looked just as good then as what we have now, so don't tell me it wouldn't work. As I've said before though, I understand completely the economics for the teams in using the "silhouette" type cars instead of building them out of actual showroom chassis. However, I personally would like it better if they did still build the racers out of actual STOCK cars. I guess we've beat this subject enough for one go-around, so I'll get off the box! Thanks again for the note, and enjoy the races! But it's up to the Indy teams to adjust to the course and not the reverse. I think many of the problems experienced were the result of engineering problems, including Greg Moore's bearing problem. Banking should not be a factor, unlike the problem at the end of the straight leading to turn 8 at Mosport which can lead to cars becoming airborne, that's a case where the track is at fault and requires modification. Whats the degree difference between those at Michigan and those at Indianapolis...? TIE --- QScan/PCB v1.17b / 01-0182 * Origin: Balmy Beach Toronto 416-690-9641 (1:250/422)
