Ford has 35 ML> more horespower, Chevy has a new Cylinder head but no, NASCAR want ML> approve it.. Well, if you wants to talk stats ... There are usually 42 cars start a WC race; of that number, Chevies average taking up around 15 slots (approx 35%). That 35% has won eleven points races this year (52%), and has a good lead in the manufacturers points race. Chevie drivers are also holding the top three spots in the WC points standings with only one Ford driver (Jarrett) close to them. Yeah, it's hard to not feel Chevie's pain. I don't hear any Chevie/GM types saying "Hey NASCAR! Make Ford go back to the templates and the engine they were using in February and we'll give up that 6 inches you gave us!" IMNSVHO, the whole "Ford/Chevie/Pontiac advantage" argument is P-O-I-N-T-L-E-S-S. Make them run factory templates and a set of heads which are available to the buying public! If they don't watch what they're doing, the next step will be an IROC-ized NASCAR Spec car! That'll REALLY bite! ML> Poor boy has some bad luch huh? Of course we could alway talk about (a) Marlin at Bristol in 1987; (b) Rusty at Bristol last year; (c) Shrader last week at Michigan. My gun's handle looks like it was attacked by termites! ML> Don't mess with Rudd, he's as mean as Earnhardt :) Ah yeah, Ricky Rudd. The "Ace" who comes screaming into the pits and takes out one of Bill Elliott's pit crew in the process. Real "Hero" material, that guy. Actually, I respect his ability to form a race team and be successful (in spite of Billy Ingle). However, he'd probably still be at Hendrick if Jeffy hadn't have shown up. There's still some bad blood between them, from what I hear. ML> I say take off the restrictor plates, too dangerous! I don't think they'll ever take them off the 358 c.i., 14:1 engines. Bobby Allison's wreck at Talladega in ... 1988?(?) sealed that one. ML> When Richmond was well, you couldn't beat him, he would be at the top ML> now no doubt but that partying with all those woman got him AIDS, or ML> was it drugs? We agree there also, in addition to our assessment of Jack Roush. Tim, when he had Harry Hyde as chief wrench, could make a marginal car competi- tive. His problem was a fondness for nubile, suntanned, little racing groupies and high-priced working girls. NASCAR tried their damnest to pin a drug rap on Tim when he became ill. Hendrick took NASCAR to the wall and they dropped their case, even though Tim never consented to release his medical records while he was alive. This was one of NASCAR's sordid bits of history which it doesn't like to comment a great deal on. Tim ended up being a victim twice, once to the bug and once to NASCAR. He was ostracized from NASCAR when they falsely claimed Tim failed a "Whiz Quiz" prior to the '88 Busch Clash. He refused to turn over his med records (which would have shown he was taking AZT, a med for AIDS). He just disappeared and he died in late summer, 1989. ML> All Marcis can do is lead a lap every race while under a early ML> caution.. They should name that dumb set of points "The Dave Marcis 5 Point Award for Mediocrity." ML> D.W needs to retire and become a announcer. He'll be a car owner. I pick either Tony Stewart or David Green as his driver. -> As I stated before, Chevie fans have no business venturing into that -> worms. They cried back in the '80's when Ford (well, Bill Elliott) -> was winning everything, and got concessions. They replaced the -> Lumina with the MC, which was an albatross without the six inches -> NASCAR gave them. Stay outta there! Both sides have soiled undies! ML> You stay outta there, when Chevy won all those races, Ford atleast had ML> chances to win, Wallace blew once, etc and they were competitive, ML> since NASCAR has given Ford the world, they can't even be touched, so I ML> think it is you who needs to stay ouuta there, or go whine like Ford Rude, contemptuous, and quite obviously, biased.
