I heard Shawn Meze say this to Roy Witt: RW> Shawn He wuz eyen' the girl! SM> Im aware of what he was doing. The point being, what does any of it SM> have to do with the tires?? Well, you DID notice that they had Firestone's on both cars, right? SM> If they were going to make a point (lame tho it is) they would maybe SM> have another brand of tire. They only want to sell Firestones! SM> It would seem they were saying the guy with the firestones get the SM> girl. Ahhhh, but WHO did get the girl? Certainly not the dude in the mustang. And there really wasn't room for two in the IRL car. Maybe she ducked into the store and was talking to the tire salesman when the green light went down. SM> But they were both sitting on a set of firestones. Why advertise anyone else's tires? SM> (BTW, the last tire I would buy, right next to Goodyear tires.) But that's not the point, here! We're talking about the commercial! SM> All and all, its a stupid commercial that gets way too much air SM> time. But then again, all commeercials are! It gets the 'air time' that Firestone pays for...stupid or not...Maybe in the next Firestone commercial, they'll tell us what happened to the girl.. ... I will probably have some good stuff next monday as I am going to Taladega on thursday and I will be doing a lot of noseing around and listening. I expect to see a good race, not only because Earnhardt is upset and behind(I bet we see the old bump and run), Jimmy Spencer likes this track as well as Bill, it was also at this race either in 94 or 95 that Earnhardt blew coming out of the pits. I look for Yates to have a good run at it. If you have'nt guessed by now I am a big Ernie and Yates fan and even though its only by one point I think its great to see Ernie in the top ten, he's come along way baby. * Evaluation copy of Silver Xpress. Went to Richmond Saturday night to see our favorite band play at one of the clubs there. Worked in the yard most of the day Sunday putting in some new iris' that I just received. The weather had cooled off some (80's) so it was quite nice. Did you get a chance to see any of the race at Pocono? Our boy placed a respectable 7th. The Fords were definitely the dominant force. That 2 inch roof lowering looks like it really did the trick. Jeff was the highest finishing Chevy. All the rest of the top ten were fords and one pontiac. Okay, I work at a power plant as a control room operator. We generate electrical power whenever requested by the state regulated power company, Virginia Power. That usually comes on the really hot or cold days. Most everything is computer controlled and monitored from a central control room. There two gas turbines and two steam turbines which can generate up to 300 megawatts of power. My previous background was an electrician in the Navy onboard nuclear submarines. Hobbies include working on cars, photography, gardening, Nascar trading cards. I also have two 35 gallon fresh water aquariums. Obviously I tinker on computers, that goes without saying. Do some bowling and fishing. How many kids do you have? I've got two. A daughter who lives with the ex in South Carolina and a son who is 12. That's about it for now. Catch you later. ... Problem NASCAR has is keeping the cars inside the stadium. Insurance companies get edgy when they are running over 200. (NHRA is finding a 300 mph barrier with it's insurance FWIW). My solution would be to rebuild the tracks, less bank or tighten the turns, so they scrub some speed and take off the plates.
