Gurney is coming off of considerable success in sports cars. We talked off air about the CART/IRL thing and he was hesitant, actually cautious, about what he would say until I assured him it was not for broadcast. His visable attitude changed, at that point, to one of actual sorrow over the whole mess. His biggest complaint was T.G. himself and the words I remember most are "self serving" and "egoistical". He's not against a low cost series and providing greater opportunity for young drivers. He IS against doing so at the expense of CART and the Indy 500.
