I ask Robert about that and he tells me that huge link on www.websoftware.com for his "www.ARJSOFT.com" makes trouble on these days. Since yesterday it works well again. But there (on www.ARJSOFT.com) is only the old B beta available (tested yesterday and today.) cu Horst --- InterMail v2.50ml\e1018 bstuff * Origin: LineLife, Monheim am Rhein, NRW, Germany (2:2433/1640) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 141 ARJ Ref: E5P00006 Date: 05/19/97 From: ANDREW BELOV Time: 02:08am \/To: ALL (Read 1 times) Subj: Max. size of comments Hi All! Hi, That limitation has always been on ARJ archives and there is no easy way around it. Future versions may have a special file display option. In others, if first file in archive is a certain name, ARJ will display it in ANSI mode. This has the benefit of large compression and an unlimited comment size. ARJ is at its maximum limits given the major issue of archive compatibility. I broke compatibility and came up with the JAR archive. It breaks all rules and provides maximum compression at good speed with similar ARJ nctionality. Regards, --- msged 2.07 * Origin: ARJ Support Node.
