According to the last official numbers which were released at the end of Mar 96, the count was over 13 million and sales are continuing at the rather brisk pace which started about 7 months ago. I was lucky enough to get selected for the Merlin June Beta. I have been testing it on 2 systems and can attest to the fact that IBM is working hard on OS/2. The new look is very very modern...and many new features abound. I am very immpressed... I do hope rj is hard at work on a OS/2 version, however, I have removed arj support here (accept for conversion purposes) because I have seen nothing but vaporware... Hi, To speed up development of an ARJ/2, I will be releasing a source code version of ARJ without compression/decompression. It will only support STORING files. It will still include much of the host dependent functions. This release is to encourage a OS/2 programmer to make the necessary modifications to add EA and host support. Then I will be able to move the modifications over the full ARJ and release an ARJ/2. This could be in a few months with help from the outside. I did not do this before because of the risk of giving away a full skeleton of an archiver program. Someone could make use of it to make a good archiver. However, currently there are a lot of good archivers out there. Regards, Robert Jung --- msged 2.07 * Origin: ARJ Support Node.
