The mini-12" figures (R2-D2 & co) are showing up at the Hasbro Company Store (wherever that is) and should be everywhere soon. [Matt's note: The Luke Bespin Kenner figure wave should be showing up soon.] Issue #3 of go figure! should be out this week or next week. BIG BIG Star Wars section. Steve Sansweet, Mark Hamil, some Pawlus guy... The Star Wars CD singles have shown up locally at a place called Zia Records (check the Phoenix phone book). In other words, I don't know what record stores in your area have it. I don't know if RCA/Victor does mail order, but some book stores (Borders comes to mind) will order any of the SW Singles. In case ya missed it: Star Wars - Cantina Band (CD has really neat artwork of the Band's heads) ESB - Imperial March (CD shaped like Vader's helmet) ROJ - Jedi Rocks (Has stock artwork of Max Rebo band) I was really hoping they'd put Lapti Nek on the ROJ disc somewhere, as a hidden track or whatever. Each CD has one lousy track... so they're neat to buy for the artwork (which you can see without opening the disc), but for the music, I still reccomend all three Special Edition soundtrack 2-cd sets (costs anywhere from $20 to $30 per film, depending on where you buy them). - Adam ============================================================================ ... Droids! And the cosmic ballet continues... JD> What's Your Favorite...ship? Droid? That would be the Millenium Falcon, a remodelled Corellian freighter? (Or am I dead wrong here) and the R2 droids. Rather obvious choices, yes I know. What's perhaps more interesting though is what's online on the StarWars website: design sketches of some of the new movie's scenes, like... (tiny) SPOILER ...the designs for the Jedi Temple on Coruscant (? not sure about this). I like the style they're going with in designing the city, it promises to be quite majestic, as it should be IMVHO. Some Bladerunner (and logically The Fifth Element too) influences (tall buildings, flying traffic) but on an even larger scale. The Public transport liner that is shown (you know, the one at the end of SW VI SE) is truly huge. I wonder what they'll do with Starships and the likes, hope they don't go for some downwatered versions of the ?-wings et al, perhaps something more organic with traces of recognisable design would be nice. ::::::[common.%.hedgehog.(brought).to.Fidonet.by.%%(ntropy@mail.dma.be)]:::::: ::::::::::::::[but the hedgehog can never be buggered at l]::::::::::::::::: ... Kessel is surrounded by the Maul. It's a cluster of black holes. To make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, would have required Han to find a safe route through the Maul. Which is exactly what he must have done. Besides, if you couldn't follow his exact course, and which Star Destroyer crew could do that, then you'd be swallowed up by the gravity of one of the many black holes in the cluster. Hartwell ... Well those are my questions. Please answer them. SS> You don't get out do you? As for your first q - Lucas thought he SS> could capture the hearts of SW fans by starting in the middle of the SS> story - it also happens to be the most explosive. The movies 4,5, I thought he just had a neat idea for a sci-fi movie that incorporated elements from other genres like war movies, westerns and swashbucklers. As a matter of fact, there was no chapter 4 apparent in the original release. That was added after it became a success. SS> and 6 also enabled us to get hooked and look for answers. Well, I can't argue with that as it hooked me good since I feel like a sea bass everytime I watch Star Wars. :-) SS> Don't understand 2nd question. um translator droid where? He might mean SW:ANH as a sequel to the trilogy-trilogy Lucas has planned. Actually, the ones being shot now are prequels but that's being picky. :-) I'm hoping he continues to shoot for chapters 1,2 and 3 without stopping. It takes him forever to get going again. He can take a breather after that. But he should get going on chapters 7,8 and 9 as soon as possible. I can't wait 15 years between each trilogy. That simply is too long. :-) SS> For the 3rd question - Lucasarts (lucas company) was just starting SS> with business and Star Wars was the first (unsure) movie try. SS> He hoped Star Wars would hit it off and if they made money and fans SS> wanted more, 1,2, and 3 would come along. Nope. It was his third commercial movie. THX 1138 was the first one and then American Graffitti (Harrison Ford's break) and, of course, SW, though he didn't direct the next 2 SW films. I thought he established LucasArts after SW hit it big? I don't think he ever intended SW to go beyond the first one but it was such a success and he got so involved in making them. You might as well throw in ILM being established as well. cya!
