It seems that some of you let this David Nelson get under your skin. Let me admit that I am a Star Wars fan and also a Star Trek fan. Actually, I am a fan of all Sci-fi! I like Star Wars for its story (which is a good one). It draws from stuff like ancient samurai and WW2 (if you know what I mean on that part), also with magic that has its mysterious ways and the characters. In Star Trek, I also like the characters and only some of the stories. But from what I have seen from both, I really didn't see Star Wars ripping anything off from other stuff. Star Trek on the other hand, well, it does take stuff from other shows (and I'm only talking about the most recent shows of the Star Trek universe). I have seen that Voyager has taken some ideas from the show Babylon 5 (this was in the season finale). The ships that the aliens have, the aliens that ravaged the Borg, looked almost exactly like the Vorlon ships on B5. And that alien themselves looked like the Shadows (these are the only things I have seen so far). And also, Star Trek has to always bring back certain characters to bring up the ratings. While Star Wars was able to keep its fans for 20 years, with only the fact of adding just a few scenes in, but it didn't need to put in certain characters (actually, aliens) to get people to see the movie. But like I said, I do like Star Trek and Star Wars, but Star Trek does have a lot of faults. Star Wars may have its faults too, but I haven't seen any. David Beaver BorgZero@juno.com ...
