Hi Robert, There are plenty of resources out there to help you in performing audio/video genealogy documentation. Here's a couple for you: Life Stories/A Video Legacy (contains a notebook, a personal history questionnaire, and an audio cassette). Call 800-2R-STORY. Gift of Heritage (one hour instructional video). Call 800-224-8511. Some elders, like many of us, find video recording intimidating and embarrassing, even though we don't intend it that way. Audio taping is much cheaper and less intimidating, but you have to listen to lots of tapes to get the info you want. When you decide to write down your family history, here's a couple of book references that I recommend: Writing Family Histories and Memoirs by Kirk Polking. Betterway Books, Cincinnati, OH. ISBN 1-55870-394-2. $14.99 retail. Legacy: A Step-By-Step Guide to Writing Personal History by Linda Spence. Swallow Press/Ohio University Press, Athens, OH. ISBN 0-8040-1003-X. $14.95 retail. BM> Bill Hi Bill, There are several programs out there, but somet popular ones seem to be Family Tree Maker Standard Edition (Broderbund, about $59.95) and Family Origins (Parsons Technology, about $29.95). I personally use Family Origins 6.0, and have been using it for the past 2 years. It contains lots of useful features and imports/exports files in all the popular formats. If your interested in Parsons, call 800-779-6000 for ordering info. They have both programs there (Broderbund owns Parsons). Regards, Stu email: drumstik@flash.net ... I saw Elvis.
