I had told Kathy that I would pass her request along to someone who knew the ins and outs of that procedure (meaning you, or someone you might pass it to) since I have no way to help her here. I played a long shot, hoping you'd be so kind as to do that honor. I know in some circles it helps you (or whomever) to secure new members. I'd be much obliged if you'd "handle it." I'm not clear on your meaning in your last paragraph. Please explain. Too, I wonder if you refered to James Senior or one of his sons, particularly Solomon. Solomon and his brothers all rode in the KY militia, under George Rogers Clark on expeditions to IL, IN and OH, as well as all over KY. My NSSAR membership is based on Solomon, and we still lack the proof that his father, a member of the (VA) Continental Line from Augusta/Botetourt Counties was among the troops who were with Washington at Valley Forge, thru the New Jersey campaign, and on to West Point (as legend suggests). There *was* a James Senior in those units, but we lack the proof that he was our 4GGF. But getting back to that packet, I was hoping you'd assist Cathy/Kathy in her quest to join NSDAR. At least you might pass her request and info along to the National on your next visit there. Please? I hope you found the rest of that packet of some use. The disk also might be of interest in that it has a gedcom of our motley crew, valid several days ago (but now has a few minor corrections required among the distant collaterals). You'll recognize some of the names in it. And that's about as far as I've been able to dig back. He moved around a lot. First to Philadelphia. Then by 1850 he was in Monroe County, MI, and by late 1853 he was in Pulaski Co., IN. He was there twelve years. In March 1866 he purchased land in Fayette County, IA and that's where he died and is buried. I'd do research at the FHC when we come out there, but usually they are closed for the holidays at Christmas time while we are there. Until the last trip, the library downtown was also closed for the holidays. On the last trip, the library had just acquired the newest book on our U.S. Presidents' linages by Gary Boyd. Makes for some very interesting reading. Best Regards, Chuck ... POW/MIAs never "have a nice day!"
