As to your original uestion, JM->that is one I do not answer, nor must I explain. C'mon, Jerry, Is that how you respond to someone who is trying to help you? If you don't want to answer, then don't answer. It's just that simple. Not that you're interested, but I also watch very little tv. Most of it is garbage, including the constant listing of murders, how much the reporter enjoyed dining somewhere, and the weather reports, which are normally incorrect. JM->The machine is a P-133, with 5GB HDD and 64 MB RAM. I've stripped from the JM->Registry each reference to the Internet, URLs, HTMLs, etc. since in my case Glad you changed your mind and replied. I'm not really interested in why you dislike the Net (which *is* your business), but only knowing that you are. That stops me from trying to help you further. BTW, do you have any Murphys from Blissington (near Ballysmutton)? I have a Patrick Joseph Murphy, who settled in Newark NJ c. 1885 and d. 1899. Thanks. I remember seeing the name, but didn't pay > any attention to it at the time. Where did your > Ginther line come from? Yesssss, Marianne, I got it yesterday 1/23 and the above today 1/24. Thank you. My Grandfather's name was Joseph Collard (if I didn't mention that already.) As for the Ginther side, the first we could find on a census was Gottfried, in Waverly, Pike Co., Ohio. From there they moved to Christian County IL. I have been to the Lutheran Church cemetery where he is buried there. Church is no longer there. However, Church records have helped us find more leads back into Germany since the collapse of the "wall". I have a cousin that has been pursuing this for several years and has picked up all of the birth, death and marriage certificates that she could remove from various courthouses. All of my immediate family still live in and around Christian Co. IL. Not much need in getting into that any deeper at present I guess. Plenty of research accomplished in that direction, but a dead end on the Collard route. Thanks again for the post. I was just afraid that I wasn't going to hear from you again and wanted to let you know that I was interested in your endeavor. What is your interest in the Collard genealogy?
