The Zone 1 Backbone only carries echoes listed in the Zone 1 EchoList. It seems that the listing for this echo has expired. Thus, it will be necessary for someone to assume the moderatorship and list it if it is to remain on the Zone 1 Backbone. There is a three month grace period to accomplish this. For more information please consult these files: BOFAQxxx.TXT and ELISTxxx.ZIP, where "xxx" is the version number. They are available from most hubs or can be requested from 1:1/200, 1:1/201, 1:283/120 or 1:396/1. If you need assistance, please contact Marge Robbins, 1:283/120. I'm KK> sorta partial to Scale R/C KK> since I do the planes as well. But it is certainly Yeah...I'm a plane builder too. Got a 1/4 scale J3 of mine on display at a local aviation museum and a 1/3 scale J3 under construction (has been for several years...I'm a rather slow builder :-)) I subscribe to SCALE RC MODELER but I find it a bit shallow. KK> Jenny cockpit is only 3.5 KK> inches wide. I'm use to working in tight places. It's not just a matter of working in tight spaces. It's also a problem of what has to be stuffed in those tight spaces. Submarines are trimmed by the addition of lead in the keel and foam in the upper hull. In addtion, your radio and running gear will be in a waterproof box. So, in a 4" wide hull you'll have less than 3" of space in your waterproof box and less than 1" of space for your ballast and counter ballast. It certainly can be done but I wouldn't enjoy it. Another MAJOR consideration is the battery capacity available in a small hull. My (fat) 63" SCORPION could carry a 7.5 ah battery that would last for hours. My good friend Matt has a (skinny) 63" Type IX U-boat that will only hold a 1800 mah battery that lasts about 20 minutes. --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Tech Talk Toll Wpg,MB (204)269-7373 INTERNET+ (1:348/105) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 131 RADIO CONTROL Ref: DDK00000 Date: 09/15/96 From: MARK CORONA Time: 11:31am \/To: IAN MACAULAY (Read 4 times) Subj: hello In a message of 25 Aug 96 20:50:34, Ian Macaulay wrote: IM> 22 Aug 96 09:17, Mark Corona was yackin' to Ian Macaulay and said: IM> IM> MC> In a message of 18 Aug 96 20:16:30, Ian Macaulay wrote: IM> IM> IM>> allabes IM> IM>> Ian Macaulay IM> IM> MC> I'm still here but just barely. I have flown several times at the Sumter field - it's a little too close to US 378 for me and my lloooonngg landing approaches - the turn from downwind leg onto base leg leaves the base leg close to or over this double-land busy highway - several of the Sumter pilots are coming over to Camden and flying with us - we are in our first year with a new strip - 300' paved, 600' grassed runways, 6 pilot stations, 20'x40' shelter - grass has been "spotty" coverage until the Summer rains helped us out.
