Hey, I bought a Heli last summer ( LMH-100 ) from light machine corporation. It flies rather well, I haven't got much time on the sticks. The weather has been slowing me down. If you haven't heard of the LMH-100 it's a fixed pitch main rotor, dual flapping blade suspension. Powered by a mighty .051 ( with throttle sleeve ), makes a nice weeezing sound but works great. I flew planes for about 4 years then got the rush for heli's..what a rush when that baby floats off the ground for the first time !! Anyways, I'm new in the ottawa region, I don't have a clue where the clubs are, I just fly where there is a field and not kids running around !! Fixed wings are a breeze !!! If you should feel like making the trip to the Big Plane Fly In that was posted in this echo the other day, word has it that Paul Soha will be there to do a half time show with one of his Heli's. In case you don't know who Paul is, he was national champion the last two years. I have seen him fly at the Corsair Club flying field many times, and about all I can say is..."I'm Impressed! " See Ya! Since you are a novice you really need someone to help you. I had to learn on my own and it was a very slow proccess. It makes me sick when I see someone who has had help really advance when it took me three times the time to do. But, then again I have done a lot of experementing so I have done almost everything stupid that you can do. Don't be afraid to ask for help. It will save you a lot of time and MONEY. Talk to you later Dave. Sometimes you are so busy you forget that you have a hobby. It sounds like the new workshop ( :) ) might get you more time to play. A heli in the rafters is not a good place to be. I hope you can find the time to get that puppy fired up. Let us know in here if myself or others can help. It goes along way to make things easier. Keep in touch. Hi there Steve. A dual flapping head does a real good job in the wind. It kind of calms the beast. Check with your local hobby shop,If there is one nearby, and ask about clubs in the area. I bet you could find one. Keep the info comming and let me know how you are doing. Thats what we are here for, to chat. The Heli Pilots are here is right on the money. Talk to you later. Or should I say whats up side down. A low invert snap you say. I Hate it when that happens. I try to keep my snap rolls high with a two turn bailout margin. Don't stop the spins because of a hard landing.( notice I didn't say CRASH) I love to do them and the faster the better. I fly way up here in MAINE and you must get the flying in when you can. I can't fly with gloves on so I don't do much flying in the winter. It has been a real hard winter and now is just the time to start flying at the field instead of the back yard. Keep in touch and let me know whats happening. I love the rush and someday, just maybe I'll be able to afford a heli that will allow me to go inverted !! Gotta get ready for the next flight, the weekend weather sounds good...I wonder..even if my tail rotor shaft is bend ( slightly )can I still fly or will it affect the tail rotor and the gyro ?? because it's curved a bit to the left when you look from the back ( about 1/4 inch or so ) Your the pro, I'm learning the hard way, any advise ?? If it is a belt drive, it will probably fly OK, but I would be concerned about wear on any bushings and or bearings in the tail rotor dirve system. -> Your the pro, I'm learning the hard way, any advise ?? I'm the pro? Gee thanks!, I have only been flying for about a year, but I do have two Concept 30's for spare parts, and almost a complete 60 size also for parts. Fortunatly though, Paul Soha is in the same local flying club that I am in so I have managed to pick up a few pointers from a real pro. What kind of heli are you flying? TTYL8R!
