It would seem their BBS is in it's death thro's and they are trying to figure out what to do to salvage it. Isn't this along the same lines so many of us told them not so long ago when they dropped the 800 number? Kinda makes you want to do an "I told ya so". Unfortunatly, and I doubt they've figured this out yet, the AMA BBS has established it's reputation. So, no matter what they do it will take some time for things to recover, pick up, GET WELL or whatever. No matter where people find it now the AMA BBS, Conf, Echo, or whatever will be regarded as a do nothing area and people will continue to avoid it. Things may pick up in time, I don't know. But, it will take time and I think the real question is, will AMA come up with the right game plan this time and, will they have the patience and fortitude to wait, give it the time it needs and really see if it works? Try raising the number of teeth on your pinion gear. With as much torque as you claim to have, this will add speed as well as control to the vehicle. The basic idea here is that the wheels themselves will be putting out more rpm's per turn of the motor with a larger pinion gear. The more times the wheels turn per turn of the motor, the more power the motor needs to put out to turn them. If the motor can easily overpower the ratio, either the front end will lift off the ground or the rear wheels will spin. Normally, if your tires have proper traction, the front end will lift off the ground. Since your motor has lots of torque, it can often create too much acceleration with a smaller pinion gear. By increasing the size of the gear, the torque is used more for speed than power. The larger the gear, the more speed you will get. The smaller the gear, the more power you will get. What you need to find is the proper balance of power and speed. Ideally, your motor should have just enough torque to make the front end of the car raise about 1/8 to 1/4 inch when you open the throttle up. You want it to pull hard enough so your suspension will expand to the point where it is about to be fully extended. At this point you will still be able to control the car while getting maximum speed and accelleration out of the vehicle. You also may want to try rearranging the interior. Try doing things like moving the reciever to the front most area of the vehicle, to a place where it will still be safe in a wreck, but so that it is on top of or in front of the front wheels. These few ounces will do an amazing amount to holding the front end on the ground. I wouldn't suggest moving the battery pack towards the front because it may lighten the rear end too much and cause you to lose traction. With a high torque motor, you want to strive to get the center of balance just infront of dead center of the vehicle. Any other questions? Feel free to ask. Deeter Merz ... Hubs use the echolist to establish connections. If the connection is already made it will stay there till someone turns it off. I changed hubs and can't get RC_Models turned on again because there is no Elisting now. As hubs change more connections will be lost until Nelson wakes up.
