But that is so much pasted history. Then there is Scoutnet out of Germany which could be picked up by ftp but I believe it is mostly in German and would require an isp and the software to get it. I do carry CampNet out of Canada, which I get by ftp. It contains both BP-Net and CampNet but has been very slow to non-existent sent the leader moved and changed jobs. Does that sound familiar? This is a good thing as I've moved to Kansas City and couldn't, for several reasons, get to it until two days after you did. I was back in California over the holidays only to find that my son had crashed my BBS there and I couldn't get it taken care of during that time. I got the following message from the Fidonet Robot when I finally did update the echoes: "Your message dated 09 Jan 98 in Email requesting MOD UPD of the SCOUTER echo in the Echolist database has been noted, but the password submitted does not match that in the database for this echo. You submitted your password in the form: "******". The last update was: [07 Jan 98] Stan Bimson, 1:116/32." If you would like to take over as moderator for the echoes, you have my blessings. In my new role as editor for SCOUTER Magazine, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to even read my e-mail, none the less any of the Scouting lists or echoes I belong to. Thank you for taking care of this for me and the echoes... I still hope they continue to provide a valuable resource for Scouts & Scouters. If you would like to talk to me, please give me a call at 1-800-SCOUTER (1-800-726-8837), It would be nice hearing from you. I will be 2nd co-moderator and will keep the EListing current. We will put Dave in as 2nd moderator, 1st co-moderator. I have netmail and email from Tobias Huwe in Germany and he sent me the nodelist. It (the nodelist) is 8 months old so I may request a newer one from Andrea Baitelli in Italy. If you so desire or anyone else is interested, Baitelli's fidonet address is 2:331/211 and the magic name for the nodelist is SCN_NODE. The network seems to have many systems in the USA and even more in Canada. There seems to be several forms of feeds but my information is somewhat dated. I will try to get in contact with them to see where things stand day. SB> I do carry CampNet out of Canada, which I get by ftp. He checked in after his move but has been silent since. DB> BTW, We will be Summer-camping near you at Boxwell in July. Yes, you will be there early on July the 4th. At least that's what I remember from your conversation with Brien Page. I live closer to Boxwell than he does, it doesn't take me 15-20 minutes to get there. Which camp are you going to be in out there, what time you might arrive, I might run out there. I've spent a lot of time at Boxwell, took my OA ordeal there and helped clean up Stalhman the year it opened in the late fifties, when that was all there was. Worked on the Kitchen staff two years later. I've hiked and camped almost every square foot of Boxwell.
