I'm playing Devils advocate here, having helped organise the West Texas Rendez-vous. Over all it looks good. I'm nit picking, as you asked.... GC> Those invited: All Troops, Companies and Crews in Nipissing District Allow for Troop only. THere is an unfair advantage the Venturers have over the Troops. Besides, perhaps they could help out. You know my comments on the Rovers. There is no need for that age group to be there. Keep this whole affair small, Glen. GC> Cost approx. $5.00 per person to cover the crest. Tell everyone it's $10.00 Then you can lower it later, and all are happy. If you incur an unforseen expense and have to raise it, you'll piss everyone off. GC> 2) Snow sculpture. Judged based upon theme. 10 Make sure to note that they cannot use coloured water or paint. Everything has to be white. The paint leaves a real mess in the Spring. Something we do not want to be remembered for! GC> 5) Race against time to build a stretcher and carry a scout leader Who's idea was this????? Tee Hee Hee!!! I'll volunteer for my Troop. Better yet, make it so it has to be THE SCOUTMASTER of the Troop. That'll shake up a few men, eh? GC> 6) Tent Setup! Each troop will be timed while they setup a 5 man A great idea, Glen.. but..... you should make sure everyone has the same type of tent, or you'll have someone grumbling about another Troop having an unfair advantage because "They have this fancy-dancey tent and all we've is this old ratty thing". You may want to re-evaluate it. GC> 7) Chili making contest. Each troop will make up We will have peppers and onions in ours so we can garantee a win. Tee Hee ee! Overall, a well thoughtout plan. You've done a bang up job on this one, Glen. Just perfect. Naturally, when my Troop is training for Chilly Day, you cannot be around. The other Troops will claim an unfair advantage.
