Hmm. I think it sucks myself. If Dave, who also sort of high-jacked the echo, didn't want it any longer, and since he's been missing for a good while, it's reasonable to assume he didn't want the task, then, he should have offered it to you, and at the minimum announced it. Personally, I don't think much of anyone that high-jacks an echo this way, particularly if he is not, and never was a participant. I don't plan on paying any attention to him myself, unless it turns out Dave appointed him, which I doubt, or some other good reason presents itself. I think there is a chance Scott is a good guy though, if he's the guy I think he is, but who knows. Don't know about the viruses part (or why it's part of this), but, if you know what a file is, and that AOL is not the Internet, you know far more than _most_ WIN users. The fact you post in Fido shows you most likely know a hell of a lot more than most WIN users, as most of them don't know what a modem is, or what a comm program is. DC> For me everyone is important when they use an OS in a proper way DC> and with a minimum of knowledge. DC> What you think ???? Most people are not important to me at all, whether they use WIN or OS/2, are computer literate or computer illiterate. Those that are important to me, it matters little if they use or never heard of a computer. My wife hates computers, but she's important to me. I may have missed your point on this though, I seem to be wondering a bit... Anyway, if a bonifide WIN user wants to talk about computing, I generally ignore them as they are _almost_ always hopeless. You generally don't get past learning what their favorite "AOL" site of the month is... If they know more than that, there is a good change they are an neighbors of Mr. Bill, and a fellow resident of his on planet GoofBall. I'd rather watch a puddle dry up than carry on a conversation with that alien nationality. I have seen many times where the 'hesitant customer' "has to get windows 95" to use some software, and I install and run it in OS/2, usually easier and better than in Windows. Of course, it's usually a DOS or 3.1 program, but they don't know that. It's the same thinking that they *have* to use Office 97 to write a letter, when using a spell checker is the most complex task they would use it for. Evidently, you have never used NT in a "business solution" (isn't that an oxymoron). NT 4.0 is the most crash ridden, memory leaking, POC that administrators have ever have to deal with. I have two friends who both work for large shops, and NT is the *only* OS that requires constant attention and re-boots. On the one bank WAN with 100's servers, which is switching over to NT from OS/2, due to some CIT believing in "a better business solution", the support calls per branch have gone from 4 per month with OS/2, to 39 per branch with NT, and the staffing, once two people relaxing, has gone to seven working balls to the wall. All I can believe NT good for, is desktop WIN32 stuff that may require some fancy graphics. It corresponds with all the other Redmond products only being suitable for the lightweight home user. Of course, when you put a large enough order in, any company will do almost anything. It still does not obscure the facts from any enlightened individual that the *only* reason that M$ has such a large market share, is due to scrupulous practices that they are being accused of, along with a *huge* marketing budget that would be much better used for developing and fixing their software.
