The above is so much rubbish that I can't even begin to correct it. Here is a reading list that should get you started in really understanding Java. It is what I have immediately at hand, not my full library. The Java Application Programming Interface, Volume 1 and Volume 2. The Java Virtual Machine Specification The Java Language Specification Java, The Complete Reference. You should also check out http://java.sun.com for more information and links to a lot of other Java information. They have SL> their own toy: ActiveX. MS is responsible for building the Java Reference port for the Intel platform (Windows). See the above internet site for more information. MS is involved a lot in Java, and they are also the only ones who seem to be trying to "take it their own way" rather than going with an industry agreed upon standard. Because I could care less about IBM or MS, I have none of their stock, I don't work for either company, and I make not ONE penny from their products. I frankly don't care much what 100 billion ignorant users run on their system, or how lame their systems are. My "opinions" are base on MY extensive experiences with the 3 main OS's, not on some "mans" opinion on the Internet. I also don;t "scream" that ignorant people should run OS/2 or Unix, I think they should stick with their toy junkware and play soltaire to their hearts content, type letter after letter on their 100 meg, gui desktop publishing application that came with thier system "free", and up grade the hell out of it each time the piped piper asks for more of their money. QF> IBM better to start producing softare Jack if they want to QF> bring in more Windows folks. Do you own stock in IBM, or work for them? If not, why do you care how they make their money? Apparently, they are happy making money on whatever they sell, they don't care about the ignorant user anymore than MS does, although it is true they don't take advantage of them to the extent MS does, but I'm certain that is a business decision, not a decision of compassion for the lame. Then why are you using OS/2? Mainly because OS/2 provides a great interface to FidoNet, my network of choice. I also use UNIX 8 hours a day, so I do use UNIX, and I use OS/2. I see few advantages to using UNIX at home, with one computer. When I want to use UNIX, I simply log into one of my UNIX boxes at work, and I'm using it, which I do occasionally. JS>QF> Not gunna change my mind until IBM get their act together and JS>QF> start producing the same kind of apps for the Mac and Windows.
