There is no word yet on who will replace Jason Armstrong as penciller of LSH. Jeff doesn't know if his brother Phil (guest-pencilling L* #64) is a possibility for the position. Tom said that editor Mike McAvennie is looking at both established and new artists. Jeff thinks he does not put a lot of action in his art; he is not an "action guy." There aren't any definite plans for another mini-series to follow LEGION: SCIENCE POLICE. Tom commented he would like to have a Triad mini. Jeff has doodled Catspaw recently; he would like her to be reintroduced. Jeff thinks she was black; Tom says she was Hispanic. Jeff thought the friendlier Brainy '5.1', if he had the time, would possibly fix Garth's right arm. Tom said that Monstress' blood is blue, but that may have been strictly a joke since "with all the money she has, she has to be a blue blood." Another SECRET FILES for the Legion is in the works; its release date is unscheduled. Toms Peyer and McCraw have ideas for the third of Tinya's selves, but nothing is planned yet. She is not the Time Trapper. Jan isn't pretending that he's so absent-minded. Laurel will remain short for now. She'll go through some changes. Cham will be experiencing some rough times. Tom said there will probably be no new members for the time being, "except for an appearance by Thunder." Cory Carani has finished inking the art for the print that he and Jeff will give away at this year's conventions. Cory called it one of their best pieces yet. It includes Nura in her L* #16 costume, designed by Adam Hughes. Vi, Jan, Lyle, and Monstress will receive spotlight issues in the near e. SPOILERS! UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED, ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW PERTAINS TO L* #61: Tom helped with plotting, but not as much as usual, so he passed on getting the co-plotting credit. It was a rare occurence; he'll return on subsequent issues. Some of the former Legion creators that Jeff drew on pg. 1 include Otto Binder (behind Monstress), a 14-year-old Jim Shooter, and others he doesn't remember. Roger Stern supplied the photo references. Jeff mainly used WHO'S WHO IN THE LSH and material supplied by Stern and McCraw to use as reference for the old preboot costumes. Jeff didn't intend for Zoe in her white dress to resemble the White Witch. It was Jeff's idea for Monstress to be Lori's "nanny", because "Lori shouldn't be wandering Metropolis alone." Jeff thought it was an appropriate role, given Monstress' personality. Jeff isn't used to drawing exaggerated muscles, which is one reason why he thinks he needs to work on drawing Superman. Dawnstar wasn't depicted among the rest of the Grell-era Legion because Stern didn't write her in; Jeff thinks that was because there wasn't enough room. Jeff said the Time Trapper's eyes are visible "to make him look eeeevil." He doesn't know if the Trapper is secretly intended to be anyone else. Tom said, "the Trapper is the Trapper." Every preboot Legionnaire will be seen in LSH #105 except for some of the Five-Year Gap members. Echo isn't there; Catspaw and Quislet are. Celeste will appear but Tom wouldn't say if she would be a Green Lantern or a Darkstar. Tom said that the current Legion will remember some of their experiences in this timeslip story. -- Alex Tam goldie@intergate.bc.ca; Nachro2 on AOL ___ X OLX 2.1 TD X I am Popeye of Borg. The Green Hornet movie has been in the planning stages since 1989, due to the success of BATMAN. The movie rights belong to Universal Pictures, but that could very well have been expired by now. George Clooney was slated to play the lead role, but he had to pull out for the movie PEACE MAKER (no ties to the comic version), and Universal decided it was better to wait for Clooney to fit it into his scheduale later than to recast a No-Seller actor for the part. If the Green Hornet movie does hit the big screen, I hope Universal gets a valuable director like James Camoron, and even if George Clooney is The Green Hornet, I hope they use another big draw like Leonardo DiCippi [spelling] as Johnny Dollar, and perhaps Jason Scott Lee as Kato.
