That sounds like Nikki. :) I've never had a cat so gentle with his claws. Jaz was very gentle with her teeth, but look out for those claws in some cases! If she started to slide or was scared of anything, we'd have scars to tell about it... Nikki climbs up on my shoulder when I bend over to pet him and then when I stand up, he'll balance himself and hang on without any claws. I don't think he'd ever be able to climb a tree to get away from danger though, so I make sure he never goes outside unless we're with him. :) Hugs, Vikki April 2, 1998 ... I had three acres in the country. In spite of which, the grass was greener in just about everyone else's yard. As a result, I lost two cats to feline leukemia (contracted from strays), two were killed outright by cars, one other suffered injuries in a conflict with a vehicle, and one died inexplicably--most likely hit by a vehicle and suffered internal injuries. One was taken by predators. In fact, only one cat lived long enough to die of natural causes. I have two happy cats living in a sizeable apartment, and they are doing quite well--no fleas, and no neuroses. It is known that cats in the wild adjust the size of their territory to accommodate the number of cats in a given area. Mine have adjusted themselves to a territory which is the apartment. I'd rather have my cat *living* a full, long life than pick another small cold body off the road. JPH> Just my opinion. Mine too. --- timEd/386 1.10 * Origin: TNC - (860) 963-1187 - 2.4kbps-33.6kbps! Just use a pair of nail clippers, or you can get a special tool for cutting claws at the pet store - I've used both and they work the same. When you trim her claws, just clip the tips off, and don't cut into the pink part of her nail - it's the same as cutting your own nail into the quick! It hurts! Clipping the tips off won't hurt her at all though...
