While I applaud anyone who stands up for what they believe in there is a bigger picture here. Our political system is based on comprimise. While I destest Dole's recent switch I will still vote for him because: 1) The next president will be appointing Judges including 2 or 3 Supreme Court judges. That will have a PROFOUND effect on gun owners and any firearms related contitutional issues. 2) I belive Dole will do the right thing when in office. Everything he's doing now is done to get elected. He has to appease so many special interest groups that some toes are going to be stepped on, deal with it and look head. 3) The most realistic "best" we can hope for now is a Rpublican Congress with a Republican President. I too, would love to see the Libertarians gain some ground but I just don't see it, yet. Therefore, I feel that a vote for anyone but Dole is a vote for Clinton and more gun control, particularly in the area of judicial appointments. -Mike --- GEcho 1.02+ * Origin: Mike's Point (1:30444/1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 275 GUNS Ref: DBM00031 Date: 07/16/96 From: AL MCCLAIN Time: 10:57am \/To: PAUL NIXON (Read 1 times) Subj: Ol' Keith PN>We talk...mebbe every six months or so voice catching up and PN>complaining about the !@#$ing politicians.
