A friend of mine is a committeeman in the New York State Libertarian Party. I've talked to him about this a few times. Basicly, the State Constitution and various state statutes so limit and constrain what local governments can do, that a libertarian elected to such a government would be powerless to institute his libertarian ideas. Thus few libertarians bother at that level. The feeling is, the revolution HAS to be at the top. -> I just got elected onto our homeowners board, I'm going -> for town board next time.
