And I *DON'T* think the NRA is in a compromising mood these days. Everyone makes mistakes, no one is as effective as they might be; but the NRA is in there fighting every day, and they're fighting as hard as they can. Without the NRA's work over the past thirty years, you and I would be disarmed, in prison, dead or fighting right now. Instead of demanding perfection from the NRA, why don't you work to give them the support they need to be more effective? NP>Each compromise results in a further loss of gun ownership and a further NP>weakening of the 2nd amendment. Do this enough, and the 2nd amendment NP>*will* be destroyed. *That* is what I am opposed to. And what gave you the opinion that I don't feel the same way? The only thing I object to is your statement that the NRA is actively working to destroy the 2nd amendment. I was *asked* to run for the BOD of NRA *BECAUSE* of my past work in defense of the Second Amendment. I agreed because I think NRA needs help; and a BOD that is absolutely "NO COMPROMISE". EP NP>You can NP>compromise if you want. Sheeple generally do. Tell you what, Nolan. You drop the unwarranted personal insults, and I'll continue the discourse. Thus far, I have seen no indication that your love of freedom is any greater than anyone else around here. Certainly, I have seen no evidence you are doing any more to defend freedom than all the rest of us. What I have seen is a willingness to deride the work NRA is doing; and a tendency to define for me what I believe, and then attack your own definition. I'm willing to discuss the issue in civil terms; and I won't try to define your beliefs for you. Fair enough? EP NP>But don't think for a NP>minute that means I will join you in doing so. And don't think for a NP>minute that calling your friend a freeloader for not being a sheeple is NP>going to *help* keep the 2nd amendment alive. Once again; you are confusing me with someone else. I haven't mentioned "friends" except in response to your statements. As long as gunowners are working somewhere; doing something; to defend their rights, that's all I ask. I don't expect them to be perfect; I don't expect them to be effective; I don't expect them to follow anyone else's agenda; I don't expect them to join any particular group; I just expect them to be involved. AND I expect them to refrain from overt attacks upon others involved on our side, just because they think a different tactic is the most effective. *THAT'S* what I believe. For me, working with the NRA is the best possible way to defend our rights. If you disagree, that's fine. If you think GOA is the best way to go, have a ball. As long as you don't attack friendly forces, you and I have no dispute.
