So...what would you like to talk about? Do you make your own display stuff, or just interested in pyrotech in general? Do you make your own BP? Cook your own charcoal? What about rockets - roll your own tubes? Some about me. I *first* got interested in pyrotechnics because my birthday is on the Fourth of July. (and yes, I *do* have an uncle named Sam!). I started college as a chemistry major (got 30 some-odd hours) but later switched majors (several times). I now design and build computer-based instrumentation. I'm a member of the Pyrotechnics Guild International. I make a lot of my own display stuff - mostly small shells, small rockets, and lances. My biggest problem is that I don't have a lot of room near by to try ariel stuff out so I mostly work on trying new color combintions for stars and lances (still working on that "perfect" blue). I prefer to buy my BP, but as soon as I complete my new ball mill, I'll see just how good I can make! I don't have a star rolling machine yet either (next project) so I mostly just make cut and pumped stars. The two most important things about this hobby are safety and good research literature.
