Not too hard to get, but From what I've read, Queensland is one of the more anal retentive states of Oz. OTOH, I hear Perth has a nudist beach so close businesspeople can stop by during lunch. I've seen one local illegal show across the river where stuff as large as 4 or 6" mortars were used, supposedly as a "mortgage is paid off" July 4th party theme. Just as in Oz, it's not uncommon for laws to be ignored. In my state even little firecrackers have been banned for decades, and they shut down one major national circus on opening night because they didn't like its tent. I can't think of any form of pyro which isn't restricted in one way or another here, though many US states aren't as bad. Terry --- Maximus 2.01wb * Origin: Terry's Tavern! Has anyone out there ever shot a 16" aerial shell? As I get ready to help shoot our local fireworks show, I have a chance to try one of these out, maybe. You see, for the last ten years I have been active in our local town's show by providing the necessary paper work, funding, purchasing, setup and firing. (hate clean up) This year we have changed our site for the display from a site next to the local high school to a huge field next to the airport. The high school site made it a little difficult to shoot any really large shells for the fear of a "blind" shell falling and doing any damage to houses, etc. The new site makes it possible to shoot this shell without the fear of any retribution. The only problem is I haven't convinced our supplier to sell us one. Evidently, he thinks that this 16" shell is just a *little* too big. :-) We have, in the past, shot the whole gamut.... from 2" salutes, to 12" color shells. Now, to me, a 16" shell is not much different than a 12".....other than cost :-) Which brings me to my question. Is the 16" shell *really* worth the extra cost over the 12"? Would it be better to just shoot a few more 12's and forget the 16? It would be fun though to say "there's a 16" one!" But my supplier is getting a little aggravated by me hounding him. Maybe you guys could could give me some pointers to sway his decision. Thanks. --- GEcho 1.10+ * Origin: PC-Quest Rochester, IN 219-223-7395 (1:227/139)
