Ever seen "Heavy Metal?" JD> Yah, it was aimed at the same people who attend "Adult movies" (OK, JD> maybe that's going a bit too far!)... That's -rhetoric.- I saw "Heavy Metal" long before I saw any "adult movie." Another "serious" animated movie was "Watership Down." My parents hauled us out of there SO FAST... JD> But I've got a thing against cartoons (I know, you guys prefer to JD> call the animated)... I'm not big on the idea of an animated Who either. We've been discussing a proposed Elric movie over in MOORCOCK that actually may have made the drawing stages. I'm probably the loudest opponent of this, for reasons similar to yours: "Animation" tends to be equated with "cartoons," and cartoons tend to be associated with children. IMHO, DW has gone beyond its children's program roots, and even if the program were to be serious, along the lines of the animated Batman, I have a suspicion that the series would do worse than the McGann movie did, simply by failing to draw viewers. I think it a serious fear on my part that we'd get a DW series that looked a LOT like Scooby Doo. --- GoldED 3.00.Alpha5+ - Spank Our Wombats! * Origin: Valencia: "Smarter than the average bear."
