Hmm, Babylon 5's description of the start of the Earth-minbari war is a little like The Draconian earth war in Frointier in Space. ST:TNG The neutral zone supposedly has the first 6 actors names of the doctor on a monitor screen. Reverse the polarity can be heard in the Ds9 pilot. How's about this one then... Delenn from B5 is a minbari who became lf-human The Doctor was a Timelord who is now half-human... Similar. Oh there was that weird program with Sarah Jane in K8 and friends or something :) Shada and the city of Death became Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. Tom Baker has been in the Simpsons. But first a few notes on other bits of the film. The half-human Doctor --------------------- Personally, I think this is the best thing anyone could have done to the Doctor - we now have a very good reason why the Doctor can regenerate more than 12 times, He might not know it himself yet though. I know he has said he's not human before (take the Pyramid of Mars as an example) but then Delenn (from Babylon 5) still considers herself a minbari even though she is half human, so does Spock. There is also evidence for the argument in the series for the half-human argument, witness the way the Doctor skirts around the question of whether he is human in The Time Warrior (also remember that this is the first mention of the name for Gallifrey), He claims to always wanted to drive a steam train as a boy in Black Orchid. I've no problem with the notion of the Doctor being half-human as it could also explain his inquisitive nature. And the fact that it takes Runcible a while to recognise him in TDA much like the doctor does with The Master in D The kisses ---------- Hmm, this does depart somewhat from what has gone before. The closest to a relationship is the interaction between the Doctor and Romana(II), but that is what we have seen on screen. However, in Arc of Infinity there is a pregnant woman in one scene and Susan is the Doctor's Granddaughter suggesting he has had a relationship with someone before. If Susan's grandmother, the Doctor's Wife (now there's a story - Perhaps the Terrible Zodin) was human then it could explain why Susan only has a few of the time lord traits. So there is evidence to suggest that the Doctor has had a relationship before so what's wrong with him flirting with Grace. The Master's body hopping ------------------------- No problem it has been done before with Tremas so what's the problem with the ambulance driver. The TARDIS Interior ------------------- Nothing new the TARDIS changed shape many times from the Sixties up to Survival - I think this is just an updated form of the room found in Masque of Mandragora. The Eye of Harmony ------------------ It was stated that the TARDIS draw energy from the Eye of Harmony, so I can't see a problem with the Eye being within the TARDIS. Each Tardis has its own interior dimension so perhaps the eye is the part where each Tardis is overlayed. People have said that if this is the case if you went into the ey wouldn't you come out in another TARDIS, well looking at what happend to the Master, are you going to try it? The End Bit ----------- This is where things start to become confusing. Starting with Grace and Chang Lee's death. I suggest that what happens is that the TARDIS regenerates them. The TARDIS definately does something to them (witness the gold haze fall on them), I suggest that the TARDIS uses the rest of the Master's life force to regenerate them, the effect on them is very similar to that of the Pertwee/Baker regeneration and the Doctor has always claimed that it was 'part of me, part of the TARDIS' and the Doctor did claim that 'she's a sentimental old thing'. So why couldn't the TARDIS detecting the Doctor's sorrow, do something for him? But what was all that stuff about the Eye and the planet being pulled inside out? The Doctor took the TARDIS back in time to before the eye was opened, he did not reverse time. I believe all the clock nonsense was to show the new initiates what was happening. Except for the Time readout on the console which is to show the operator where they are, So what happend? The Eye of Harmony is a black hole and so will have a very large gravitational field, I suggest that the cover is an anti-gravity field cover. Stops the gravity from acting. The doctor said that the galaxy would be sucked into the eye. Now, the Doctor shut the eye before it was opened so it was technically open for a negative amount of time. Assuming the TARDIS exists outside of Time and Space. So when the eye was open for a positive amount of time the world started to fluctuate on a quantum level, molecules altered the properties (witness the bending window) so if we assume that for a negative amount of time perhaps this would have been undone. Or perhaps the doctor rolled back time for the earth like Proffessor Kerensky was doing in City of Death. This would not affect the occupants of the TARDIS as the Tardis exists outside of ace-Time. I must admit that the bit about the restoring the galaxy I'm not too sure on I prefer the latter explanation. Feel free to comment on my suggestions. May be we can work together as an echo and finally work out how to fit the movie into the rest of the continuity. Perhaps DWM would publish it :) One last thing, The Master was pulled through the same BLack hole that was used in the 3 Doctors, I wonder if Omega is working some deal with him. :) See you earlier, Steven InterNet: sbagley@innotts.co.uk FidoNET: 2:2501/101.12 ...
