Little do they SG>realize, Doctor Who, was Originally a children's series to begin with! SG> In actuality, it really was the producers & writers, who eventually killed SG>it.. the storys got Too sketchy (we're talking plots with more holes than SG>a log of Alpine-Lace Swiss cheese!), and too jumpy/short attention span type Yah, seems they decided to bring in completely new writers who had no idea about Doctor Who... They used it as a medium to bring their wild fantasies to life... SG> I, myself, was disappointed with the movie.. Same problem.. too sketchy. SG>virtually NO action, with very little plot.. I didn't think it was that bad considering all that it had to accomplish, and to a widely non-fan audience...and all in 2 hours (including 30 minutes of commercials)... It was flawed, but I was at least satisfied that it was a continuation (starting with McCoy) and not a revision (like the two Dalek feature films from the 60s which had no bearing on the actual series)... SG> Speaking of Multiple Doctor episodes, What was the reason why Tom Baker SG>was never included in 'The 5 Doctors'? aside from brief parts from his SG>series, and trapping his character (& Romana) ? I really don't know, aside from rumors about him being ticked off at the BBC, or maybe at the fanaticism of fandom... SG> 3rd side note... Around 1992, there was a software company, called SG>Admiral Software... Apparently they produced a few computer games based SG>on the series.. One I've personally seen, 'Dalek Attack'.. Yes, I have SG>seen the 'cracked' version, but two questions.. (1) does the company xist, SG>and if they still do, where? (2) do they still have the game for sale? 'm SG>interested in obtaining a Legal, and fully functional copy.. I've seen ome SG>nasty quirks on the Cracked version.. (cracked how: somehow, the original SG>game demanded the original disk in drive A:... somehow, somebody figured how SG>to get around it, but also did major damage to the game as well.) I've never heard of it... But where I live that's no surprise... The only Doctor Who software game I've ever heard of came out years ago in the 80s and was available for the Commodore 64 (having several of them at the time, I still couldn't find the game available)... Regardless, it got bad reviews and was poorly done, so it goes... * OLXWin 1.00a * Franz Joseph*Michael McMaster*Geoffrey Mandel*Todd Guenther --- WM v3.10/93-0747 * Origin: Plain Brown Wrapper BBS-Cresskill NJ.(201)569-6685 (1:2604/309) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 270 DR WHO/BRIT SCIF Ref: DFS00004Date: 11/21/96 From: JAMES DIXON Time: 06:52pm \/To: STEPHEN GRISWOLD (Read 2 times) Subj: Re: Are the Borg a Cyberm SG>Good point... The british flair was not copletely destroyed by FOX, but there was too much action and speed. No time to think 'why does the Doctor this?' or 'what could happen when ...' while I was watching the movie for the first time. I don't know, if I like this ... The morphing Master: Was this 'Dr. Who' or 'Deep Space Nine'? The Master looked really like Odo. The eye of the Tardis: Why should it open only for humans??? The Tardis was built by Timelords, and the eye is a part of the Tardis. At least, now I konw, what the master ment, when he answerd the Doctors Question 'You look good.
