Were the new features worth the change? I own the Desktop version of D2, which is fine for what I've done so far. I haven't seen it here yet, and when I do, I'm afraid I may not put it down . I hear the printed documentation is far superior to what they were with my version (absolutely horrible as far as I'm concerned), but then again, _printed_ manuals seem to be becoming a thing of the past with many software packages these days. If I understand you correctly, it sounds like something I just did. I have 3 ways of looking up this database (of names) - a TDBNavigator, A TDBGrid and a TEdit. The first 2 work automatically as soon as you connect them to the TDataSource. For the TEdit, create an OnKeyUp handler consisting of just... Table1.FindNearest ([Edit1.Text]); then, as you type in the edit box, the TDBGrid automatically moves to the record matching what you've typed so far. Delphi 3 has many improvements in the editor and debugger, the ability to use "Packages" for creating thin applications for network or internet distribution. Packages are simply special DLLs that contain the entire VCL and Delphi libs so that only your code is compiled into the EXE. Ability to easily create ActiveX controls and apps, and more.
