Just enter it once in terminal mode, then use ATZ for your init string. No sense saving those settings to NVRAM every time you initialize your modem. The previous ROM version was I've backflashed mine before with no damage. As long as the orignal flash wasn't some huge jump from a really low version to a really new one, I don't see any problems. I haven't had any. I've flashed from (I think) 25 back to 23 - at one time I had also backed up to some version in the teens. --- SLMAIL v4.5a (#0384) * Origin: Paul's Waka Waka BBS [206] 783-7979 Seattle, Wa. I dunno why, but for some reason, it refuses to save speaker or dial settings to the NVRAM. I seem to recall soemthing like this back when I was running a "SupraFaxModem V.32bis." John ... Supra Tech, Hello! What is 'Shotgun' technology? Does it require 2 modems? Or is this one, dual channel modem? Also, is it limited to connections with an ISP, or can any 2 people, both with shotgun technology modems, get these high transfer rates? I'm sure the tech folks will give you a more detailed explanation, but in a nutshell, shotgun technology uses one modem but two phone lines. In essence, doubling the speed by sending twice the data. You would indeed need a similar modem at the other end to utilize this feature though. Cheers, Phil ...
