The 57.6k standard requires other conditions. I don't think it will work between two similar modems in a BBS to BBS connection via voice-lines for example. I am not famililar with Supra's representation in your Spain. But I too am fed up with the Supra upgrade "process" from Canada. There is no domestic support or a modem exchange program that the US sysops currently enjoy. After waiting over 2 weeks for a repaired modem, I had the experience of having the same damaged Supra returned to me! That is why I am looking seriously at Hayes' Business modem, 33.6k. Check if you have a Hayes rep in Spain. The current sysops price is quite nice at US$149. ..August --- * Origin: eXpress >< conneXions - bancroft, ontario (1:253/60) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 267 SUPRA MODEMS Ref: DGL00000 Date: 12/16/96 From: FRED BURGESS Time: 01:01am \/To: TIM DOW (Read 2 times) Subj: RE: Upgrade??? Because, you will be purchasing a brand new modem. There is no way they can upgrade the hardware on a 14.4 modem. Totally different beasts. The 28.8 on the other hand is new enough to just swap out the data pump to increase the speed. Hello Patrick... I called Supra and asked how much will it cost me to upgrade my 14.4 modem to 33.6 . The information I got off of them was $163. Reading the echos I found out the cost to upgrade my 28.8 is $50. I thought in the upgrade you replace all the hardware in my modem anyway so why should there be a difference?? please explain Tim --- HyperMail/WC5.0/WC4.2 * Origin: THE DEN BBS Hamilton, Ont.
