One of m -> threw this one at me and, as I didn't know the answer, I'm hoping you -> the aliens take advantage of any special capabilities of the ships th -> via your randomizer? For instance, if one is flying an Interdictor -> Cruiser, can he actually interdict another ship with it? Or do they -> just use standard attack and defense modes? I haven't seen any evidence that Aliens can do that. No Interdiction, nor Transwarp. Just plain old "stand and fight". Though, maybe the proposed TW Gold will have that capability. I personally would hope not, only because that comes a bit too close to a "Borg" or "Crystalline Entity" program for my taste. I don't like randomizers with the potential to directly affect players. The Aliens can be essentially ignored by players... -c- --- ViaMAIL!/WC4 v1.30 * Origin: Chowdanet! 20gb Amateur Radio BBS (401-331-5587) (1:323/120) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 124 TRADE WARS Ref: F1W00006 Date: 01/25/98 From: CRAIG HEALY Time: 11:19pm \/To: ``KENSHIRO COCHRANE`` (Read 0 times) Subj: TW3ALIEN.ZIP Re: TW 3.0x Aliens randomizer.. -> Would you mind emailing me the source? So leaving fighters in a sector at 1:1 odds is considered superior to the 3:1 they get in a L2? Or the 1.5:1 they get on the ISS? How do these sector fighters protect against a photon? This might be a viable tactic until you have a citadel, but once you have the citadel it would be better to leave the ISS on it and swap it out. Also, this will only work in a game with no competent evils. If you can't afford but one ISS, you surely can't afford to defend it with sector ighters. I'd love to find a sector with a whole corp parked there in pods and only sector fighters defending them. ...
