I am using release 144-12. Use the 1.440-18 release...chances are your connection is using the 3200 symbol rate (max. carrier supported is 31200) rather than the 3429 which some USR code builds don't support when talking to Rockwell chipset modems. We found a way around this in the 1.440-18 code which should work until USR decides to correct the code builds with the problem. -Patrick Moore Sysop of Supra BBS CMPQwk1.42 331Supra is now the COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION of DIAMOND MULTIMEDIA --- FLAME v1.1 * Origin: Supra BBS - Technical Support is "SUPRA CORP" (1:357/4) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 267 SUPRA MODEMS Ref: DCY00028 Date: 08/28/96 From: PATRICK MOORE Time: 02:05pm \/To: AUGUST ABOLINS (Read 4 times) Subj: V34+ GRAPHICS DISPLAY SYM AA>There's an "L" with an "up arrow": AA> AA> L | AA>..and an "R" with a "double arrow": AA> AA> R | AA> These are covered in the at336cmd.txt (or whatever they renamed 336_LIST.TXT to): L^ (L followed by an UP arrow) LOCALLY initiated renegotiation upward in carrier rate. I, too, have "fallen in love" with the informative display on my Supra external. Supra modems look a lot better than many USR external modems. Supra modems seem to be a little picky about connecting to certain modems, but other than that they are OUTSTANDING modems. -=SK=- --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Sherman's Shelter BBS, San Bruno, (415) 872-0242 (1:125/5109.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 267 SUPRA MODEMS Ref: DCY00030 Date: 08/28/96 From: SCOTT KIDDY Time: 09:00pm \/To: DAVE STEEPROW (Read 4 times) Subj: SUPRAEXPRESS 288I PRO -> > I have a Supra 288VFC External, and I have yet to see her at 115k. -> > The most I get on the net (downloading) is 3.3k/sec -> -> Well, yer doing better than I on the net...I usually only get around -> 1.0-1.5k download. With -18 I get 26.4/21.6 connects that soon fall forward to 26.4/26.4. The EQM is always around 16-17 at 21.6. At 26.4/26.4 it is a very solid connection.
