JG>I deleted my comments from an earlier message. We can agree to disagre JG>purpose in life and in this echo is not to be argumentative, with you o JG>anyone else. That's nice, but it won't last long based on my experience with humanity. JG>I will certainly present facts as I know and understand them The rest of us do too. Facts are usually based on what one considers experience and experience itself is open to interpretion, ask any religious order. JG>However, I will agree to drop this entire matter if you refrain from ma JG>blatant statements that can be proven to be less than absolute. Censorship? Say only what you like tohear from me and you won't hit you? Naw, will never work. I'm too darn opinionated. JG>opinion as opposed to a global truth and we can agree that any given JG>installation of any given OS on any given computer by any given person JG>problematic. Heck, that's a given and that's pretty much sums it up everytime one of us howls in anguish or praise about something computerese. If you interpret it as global and gospel, that's your problem. JG>I will do this unilaterally. I hope you will follow suit. Heck no, that's censorship. I'll say what I think and believe, you can do the same. That's not OUR problem. Our problem is me saying what I think and you trying to tell me I'm wrong and brain-dead for saying what I experience with my system and consequently what I think about Windows or MS as a result. Now, like with religions, folks get downright loyal to their chosen faith. They get mono-optic too so that all others are "cults" while they themselves are the TRUE CHURCH. So when I see MS worshipers who behave the same way, it doesn't really bother me Cause I been there, done that. So you speak your mind, I speak my mind. The only thing we really need to do is for me to continue not calling you a liar in so many words and you stop doing that to me. See, based on my experiences, I could easily think you're either a liar or suffer self-inflicted MS blindness. But then that would not be fair. It can very well be that you are one of those people who NEVER have problems with your system thus see no basis why others howl in pain about Windows or MS. It's possible. No matter if I'm inclined to believe there's no such animal. I don't live in your house so who the heck am I to say you're lying about what happens in it? And vice versa, friend. We keep it that way, then you and me don't have any problems to speak of. It's quite simple really. Now, I insist NT 4.0 is a dog because my experience says it barks. You might insist NT 4.0 is cat because your experience says it purrs. Neither would be right to insist the other is a liar because our experiences were not the same and YOUR experience was yours and MY experience was mine. We will thus likely have very conflicting views, advice, and beliefs about NT 4.0 as a result. And can do it without threatening to nuke each other's CPU chip ( actually, I prefer multiple comet collisions myself to endure total destruction or a black hole if I'm serious ). JG> Feel free t JG>me to task for any inaccuracies I post since I, too, am fallible... Nitpick? Naw, what for? Been around long enough to know that computer people when honest with themselves figure out when they're wrong. Seen many who believe they're right as rain but when given time, common sense eventually rules. You say tomato, I saw salsa, you squash your tomato and drop it in some spices and figure out it not just a tomato anymore. Or I drop mine and find out it a sauce and not a salsa. If I think you or someone is wrong, I'll probably say so. You might disagree, so what. Just as long as there's no insulting, attempts to convert to the faith when a person has made it obvious their views are harden cement however wrong or right they may be. THE SKY IS BLUE? NOT! IT'S GREEN! SUIT YOURSELF! End of story. Now, let have a cup of tea. Here's yours. (~~)] AHHH, good stuff. I agree w/ you completely. The few PCs at work that have 1.e. v4.xx are a pain in the neck to support. The main shop wants us to upgrade to utlook98 (as if Outlook97 isn't enough of a pain.) I'm going to postpone the upgrade as long as I can. I remember reading sometime ago that if another browser is installed on a PC w/ i.e.4.x, then ie4.x will show up in the add/remove programs selection and it can be removed. If Outllook98 works after the IE4.x uninstall then I'll be a happy camper. I don't have a PC that I can try this on and I stay as far away as I can from the work PCs w/ ie4.x. At home I upgraded my PC to one w/ OSR2 and IE3.2 and I've lost all patience w/ ie3.2. I'm going to load either NS3.x or NS Communicator. Much better browser.
