That's the one almost all appendages grab by default (some sound cards, bus mice, etc.) It usually is supposed to be used by LPT2, which few of us have or need, and that is why it's so popular. I'd avoid it and seek one in the higher group, like 10 or 11, for instance. If you had MSD or a similar utility, you could check the current allotment of IRQs for conflicts or availability. Control Panel > System > Device Manager > Ports (click on the + sign and hilite your choices). Then select Properties and massage as needed. There are 'conflict reports' to be read and considered when you get that far; look for them. After you complete this step, revisit the Modem selections and options in the Device Manager listing and check all the options there as well. After making your new option selections, reboot to activate them. Make a backup of the system, and prolly new Rescue disks as well. the Jerry Murphy in Lakewood, Ohio, USA * DeLuxe2 1.21 #8814 * Nature almost always sides with the hidden flaw. --- InterEcho 1.19 * Origin: Nerd's Nook, Westlake OH, U.S.A. Thanx for your suggestion but the thing is that I already tried many different kinds of monitors and the problem seems the same. I think that the cable or monitor has someting to do with this problem! Maybe the SVGA card configuration maybe? I have a Trident Super VGA card by the way. This configuration has been auto-ditected by Win95! When I boot-up, I press the "DEL" key to go to setup menu and it is isn't colored and my monitor cable is well conected and when I use scandisk, memmaker or defrag, the menu is black & white! Instead of color blue with other colors! Trouble is I can't find where I read the article and I don't seem to find any such program in the list of installable programs from Control Panel.
